Id stick with gold.

Golden oud supposedly big brother, platinum. If you've smelt golden oud, this is very different. Something about platinum doesn't sit well with my nose, as where golden is more of a pure oud, musky warm almost creamy, this one is sharper, and fresh. Oud + fresh hasn't worked for me, not even in encre sport. Vetiver kinda of cheapens the oud, makes it spicy in a green way, not a fan, not a bad scent, just to me off putting. To each their own! Of course the ratings are vastly conflicting MY opinion, but alas, of you want raw wood that smells like sharp vetiver and green notes, this is for you!

Platinum Oud smells like the name might suggest, fresh and "sharp" Oud. Not in the direction of Oud for Greatness, but rather in a soapy direction and less sweet. When I showed the fragrance to those around me, the feedback was overall very positive. Initially, associations like "doctor" or "band-aid" came up, which were not meant to discredit the scent but rather were intended in a positive sense. Later in the dry down, the fragrance gives a pleasant woody atmosphere, which must come from the sandalwood. The scent is said to be very similar to Oud Wood, which I unfortunately have not had the chance to smell yet.
Overall, the fragrance smells very high-quality and is well-received (if someone perceives the scent). The sillage is generally rather subtle, and the longevity is not very long. Later on, it becomes a pleasant close-to-skin woody scent.
If you know the original and this one, I would definitely be interested in a comparison, especially regarding longevity.

Basically beautiful DNA, but there is a bit of the medicine cabinet present here

The Platinum Oud has certain similarities to TF Oud Wood or fragrances like Oud Noir by Versace. Nevertheless, the Platinum Oud has its own twist. In my opinion, it is a bit "dirtier," rougher, and darker.
Furthermore, I get certain "medicine cabinet" vibes here that I don't really have with the other mentioned fragrances.

The scent starts off a bit uneven for me. It feels a little uncoordinated and thus somewhat "scratchy."
After that, it becomes more pleasant and a bit softer.

Overall, we get here
dry woods, topped with pepper and a strong cardamom note.
A woody-spicy scent with an oriental touch, very subtly sweet and resinous vibes.

The performance of Platinum Oud is solid to good.

DHI with Cardamom instead of Vanilla, Evoke Gold 4 Him and Ajona by Dr. Liebe

I love its neutrality. It is also mild and bright. My first thought when I smell it is always "ah, fresh-smelling medicine cabinet." Then toothpaste like the Ajona with fennel. Then I think of perfumes I know with iris and cedar. Dior Homme Intense, but fortunately without the vanilla suffocation, Evoke Gold For Him without intense stinging or biting, and others as well. A bit mentholated. Oud itself is probably not in here or only in small amounts? But the term "oud" seems to sometimes just mean scent or perfume. The interplay is perfect and the vetiver is incorporated in quite a pleasant portion. And the perfume has a lovely resinous quality - one might think there is some incense and tobacco in it.

oud noir and too much cardamom

I find it smells exactly like Versace Oud Noir but with a touch of Havicat!
Oud Wood is a bit smoother and different!

The cardamom makes it smell very soapy in the drydown!
I absolutely do not like that!

Overall, it's a very nice scent, but I wouldn't wear it like this...
because the drydown just reminds me of cheap fabric softener.

By chance, I had a sample of Lataffa Dynasty lying next to it,
I wouldn't wear either fragrance on its own...
but together they complement each other and balance out the issues!

Dynasty is too feminine - with Platinum Oud it no longer feels feminine at all
Platinum Oud is too "soapy" - with Dynasty, that "soapy" note completely disappears...

If anyone has both, I can only recommend testing them together!!!

A true fragrance experience :D:D

Nice, heavy bottle and a fairly similar scent to Tom Ford's Oud Wood at a reasonable price make this well worth a try.
