The Perfume Oil
"Ambre III: Naiad" is only one of the many perfume oils made by Alkemia. This is the second one I tested of that line. When I recently entered details into the Parfumo Databank, a whole array of some 62 oils were parading me by, each described with plenty of advertising effort. There were names, there were paintings - all geared, of course, to excite and challenge the imagination.
This little (innocent) sample, however, is convincing by itself. After several days, I keep reaching for it and cannot get enough of it ...
Brushed onto the arm with feather-light strokes with the dipstick, little bright/spicy wafts of scent keep traveling up to my nose: lovely, playful, beguiling, shimmering, consistent, comforting. The iris is hidden in between fresh aquatic notes, and while this note usually is powdery, this is not the case here. The incense in the drydown is not dusty, either. Well, this is an Oil with a certain slickness.
Long lasting without becoming intrusive, because this scent is not too sweet. A day perfume, for many occasions, for the evening it is not dramatic enough. That was not the intention here.
