Surprisingly Nice
Lime Sec starts out with a blast of lemon & lime. It's not truly natural, somewhere in between the lime scent you get from a Margarita, and lime candy. That is not to say it is unpleasant. Just a bit synthetic.

Soon the lime settles down and a woody musk scent appears which is blissfully NOT a laundry musk. The lime does not go away, but becomes quiet and refined. This stage of the scent lasts several hours...surprisingly good for EDC concentration.

Overall, it is a very nice scent which can be had for on the cheap. I like it, and think it's a great casual, spring and summer scent. Plus, unlike one of my other warm weather favorites, 4711 Original Eau de Cologne, this one lasts. Strong 6/10.

True April Freshness!
Wow, is it fresh!

You can't help but like this simple scent after the first spray. For me, it clearly shows lemon in the top notes, not lime, which takes on a green hue through the combination with a herbal note.

However, the first spray quickly fades away. The citrus note transitions into a stable accord from the musk department. This is not a creamy-powdery white musk, but rather animalistic and bone-dry, and perhaps a bit woody. That it represents a soapy or detergent-like character must be put in quotation marks today. Unfortunately!

Have you actually noticed that today's detergent and fabric softener scents are far removed from the April freshness of the 70s? One might speculate whether it's all due to marketing or actually because of the evil legislator who bans everything. I lean towards the former, because in Pinaud Lime Sec, everything we knew from Grandma's laundry room is still there!

As a baby boomer, I feel extremely comfortable with this detergent musk, as it evokes memories. Even more: A little water like Pinaud's Lime Sec makes me look a bit pityingly at the younger generations, who will neither get to flex their muscles in peaceful opposition nor find such scent experiences in their treasure trove of experiences.

So, is it an elitist scent?

And many thanks to the donor for the generous decant!

Our Recommendation...
...for the conclusion of your sauna day:

After the last sauna session with the "Lime" infusion - before that, there’s a
slice of lime for the 'facial muscle training' - and following a
cooling down and resting phase, we recommend a thorough warm shower.
We have stocked up on large amounts of soap, which you should use generously.
This way, you can take home a good portion of soap scent.
Your sauna team.

The list of ingredients is short and concise. And in the end, it smells just like
that. An ultra-short fresh lime/lemon is followed by the lime/lemon infusion (it really smells like that).
This infusion aroma lasts for, well, maybe 2 hours, and then
comes the musk ox... No, the soap musk ox. Maybe there's also something
like oak moss included; that tends to be fresh but soapy.

Well, I’ll just take it after sports - it’s just an EdC and fades quickly, I thought.

Not at all! This soap lingered on me for several hours, and in close proximity to the skin,
it lasts all day. brrrrrr

If you perceive soapy as fresh and clean, then feel free to go for it.

I will only use it very occasionally.

Note: It is actually recommended as an aftershave...

Addendum from 27.11.2014: I’ll raise my rating to 70%. When dosed a bit more gently, the soapiness isn’t so bad, and after sports, it’s quite refreshing!

No lime here but a lot of harsh, pungent lemon. Have to admit I've smelled cleaning products that were more pleasant than this.

A good splash on the skin after shaving. But then quickly out for a spring walk, because the scent fades fast.

A lovely, short refreshment for a summer day. The plastic bottle feels cheap - the scent (apply sparingly, or it gets too soapy) is not.
