Majestic Special Oud Arabian Oud

It feels bad to see there is not a single review for Arabian Oud Majestic Special Oud.
Never the less,the perfume is typical arabic smelling .
The first spray and you are transported to the some other world.Initially you will get the notes of burnt wood along with Oud,but then 15 minutes later the perfumes starts to change.
There is not much transformation but even then the perfume spells a magic on the wearer.
You cannot go wrong with this perfume.Might not be a taste of any TOM DICK HARRY.
You need to have an experienced nose to value this beauty.
Has it to be described in one word it would have been said "MASTERPIECE"
See that masterpiece written in capital letters making it of more significance.

Majestic Special Oud from Saudi Arabia House Haute Luxury Niche Perfumery is an oriental, 'oud, woody, floral, musky, fresh spicy, balsamic perfume. A true example of the luxurious opulence of true Arabic perfumery! It was voted the favorite perfume of the year at the International Fragrance Federation in 2013 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The fragrance is built around a well-established backbone in Arabic perfumery 'Oud/Rose De Taif + Saffron/Musk.
It opens with the rose of Taif dipped in saffron and rosemary, giving a bittersweet and musky aspect to the perfume reinforced by the subtle animalic roughness of the delicately powdery musk. Super balanced fragrance and easy to pleasant, and not only for 'oud enthusiasts, beginners can also venture out without major risks.

And as it evolves, there comes a soft dirt of a genuine 'oud very striking, slightly animalic and incensed, which with the sandalwood bring the smoky woody aspect that, juxtaposing a hint of vanilla, leaves the fragrance with a precious and balanced aroma that will invite you to the following exaltations: oriental, floral, woody, 'oud, amber, spicy, musky. Delicious fragrance! Traditional arabesque perfume, the smell of the Middle East!

Reading the reviews for this scent I was very excited when I found it second hand for a good price, as I had recently gotten my first attar with similar notes and composition and really enjoyed it. On my first try it was love right away, and I think to this day it's my favorite rose/oud-fragrance I've tried.

The above was however followed by some the disappointment not very long after, when I didn't get anywhere near the longevity and projection people discussed online. As others have mentioned online it seems a reformulation took place at some point and like others with a 2025 batch it doesn't last very long and I usually have to reapply once or twice over the duration of a day (I don't really like overspraying like crazy).

Despite the disappointing performance I will still never sell my bottle unless I first find an older one to replace it, because like I said earlier it truly is a beautiful scent.

At the start, there’s a hefty dose of barnyard, and not a little, reaching all the way to a hint of manure. However, the woody direction quickly takes over. Alongside this, there’s a fruity-dark rose, not as over-the-top as with Montale, but a notch closer to reality. Even within the first hour, it also reveals its sweeter side and narrowly avoids a soapy noble rose watery quality.

A good idea to show a few facets so quickly, as there isn’t much time for that. Here, someone else is in charge and makes it brutally clear even to the tea-smoky extent. The associated clinging to the wearer, however, comes at a price for the wooden close-combat fighter: The displaced queen of flowers occupies the space in the surroundings instead, and it is she who is primarily perceived by others, as my favorite colleague confirmed.

The spheres of influence are thus initially distributed. That a subtle sweetness joins in around noon, which makes me think from afar of labdanum with a hint of animalic (the indicated musk is certainly not enough), is a temporary phenomenon.

A sustainable change only occurs in the afternoon. The oud note remains fundamentally strong and woody-tea-like, but becomes increasingly softened by musk. The rose is allowed to come closer again and gradually becomes dark-oily-leathery; however, this is soon only perceptible on the skin. The final end of the fragrance in the evening is composed of very quiet musk.

Conclusion: Very nice, especially the - from the user perspective - increased emphasis on the oud appeals to me.

Perfume description: The very strong presence of animalistic Oud in the first minutes attracts a noble rose, which then harmonizes wonderfully over the many hours until the perfume fades. The high-quality Oud remains consistently dominant but is somewhat tamed and beautifully rounded by the rose, making it significantly more wearable.

Personal access: During a vacation in Abu Dhabi with an Arab friend, he led me with shining eyes into the chic perfume shop "Arabian Oud." Impressed by the oriental ambiance, we smelled from the atomizers of numerous Oud perfumes. In search of a high-quality and strong Oud, I paused at "Majestic Special Oud" and could hardly detach my nose from the bottle until I finally sprayed it on my wrist. The impact of the Oud left such a deep impression that other perfumes I compared it to seemed uninteresting to me. When a beautiful, not too sweet rose joined the majestic Oud in the drydown, which truly harmonized perfectly with the Oud on my skin, I knew I had found my personal Oud perfume.

Longevity and sillage: The perfume lasts an impressive 12 to 16 hours on my skin and projects for 4 to 6 hours. Even after 2 or 3 days, I can still smell it on the clothes I wore at that time.

Bottle and packaging: The oriental-designed bottle feels heavy in the hand and conveys an overall high-quality impression. Since the metal cap alone weighs almost as much as the bottle including its contents and its base is quite narrow, there is a risk that it may tip over when touched. The packaging is a foldable box adorned with artificial leather on the top, which emphasizes the high-quality impression of the bottle and is suitable for its storage.

Conclusion: The name "Majestic Special Oud" lives up to its promise - it is truly a high-quality Oud, perfectly rounded off by a noble rose. Neither do other ingredients come into play on my skin, nor can I discern a real scent progression. As a newcomer, I still lack the experience for a meaningful comparison with other Oud-rose perfumes.
