Rosewood: Sweet rose garden scent
Rosewood eau de parfum by Arabian Oud is a unique rendition of a classic scent DNA - bright rose and dark woods.
When I spray this perfume, the opening smells of bright floral rose and red berries with cedarwood sitting underneath providing a slightly dark, powdery foundation. The contrast in the opening is executed with mastery and it is immediately apparent that this perfume is something quite special. It smells familiar and comforting like a sweet floral fragrance yet pulls off this daring twist. By incorporating an intoxicating element of a darker cedarwood note underneath the sweet floral and fruity notes, Rosewood sets itself apart from similar fragrances that lack this level of sophistication.
As this fragrance sits on my skin, the vanilla reveals itself as the primary heart note after about one hour. At this point in the dry down, I smell a cozy vanillic sweetness with the florals sitting in the background all atop a powdery cedarwood note. Much of the darkness present in the opening fades and gives way to the smoother sweet notes of vanilla and dazzling rose.
Throughout the wearing of this fragrance, the woody notes remain present and easily detectable. As such, this perfume gives me the impression of eating sweet vanilla pastries at a picnic in a rose garden. It reminds me of the smell of the leaves and stems of the rose bush in addition to the rose flowers while the sweet vanilla makes this an entremely pleasant wearing experience.
When I wear Rosewood, it feels as if I am transported to a parallel dimension where magic is common practice. This is a fantastic scent profile that stands out in it's own distinguished category. This is THE Rosewood fragrance to try out and wear in the evenings, primarily for parties and social events where you want it to be noticed. It certainly has a way of captivating those who smell it on skin.
As for the performance of this perfume, the scent readily lasts 12 hours and develops throughout the dry down. It never loses its charm nor does its silliage reduce to skin-sent levels. Rosewood projects strongly and is detectable out to about a two-meter distance for the first 8 hours of wear. After that, it changes character significantly and transforms into a soft, vanillic bubble that extends to about a one-meter distance.
If it's compliments you are after, Rosewood certainly does this. I have had people track me down hallways and sidewalks to ask if it was my fragrance that smelled so good. When wearing this perfume, I often have the impression that it is "filling the room" with its enticing scent. It leaves a strong and easily detectable scent trail everywhere you go while wearing this perfume. You cannot wear this perfume and not attract attention from those who are fortunate enough to smell it on you.
The bottle itself does not have a great cap and is not nearly as special as the perfume's scent, so I am deducting 2 points for this. Although the box Rosewood comes in is quite sturdy and suitable for transporting this perfume securely. The sprayer is of acceptable quality but far from the best there is, average at best.
In closing, Rosewood is a fragrance I wear for special occasions due to its uniqueness and alluring profile. Rosewood could even be worn as a signature scent for those who enjoy its strong and captivating effects.
