More Polo Than Rodeo: Aseel’s Tame Leather Charm

Aseel S E opens with a rich blend of Turkish rose and sweet toffee, setting a warm initial tone. At the same time, you will also smell an airy orange note along with an ozonic tendency (lasting for a a bit, into the dry down) which makes Aseel SE quite unique. As the scent develops, the heart reveals a smooth transition into velvety vanilla and subtle spices.

Being a (racing) horse themed fragrance, the leather note is definitely there but it emerges gradually... woven into the base rather than dominating the composition. It is refined, with a suede-like softness that avoids the overtly animalic territory. Aseel’s leather is understated, more reminiscent of well-worn luxury saddle than rawhide or barnyard. It complements the sweetness and the floral notes.

As most of the Arabian Oud fragrances, longevity is well above average, most likely boosted by "ambergris": 10+ hours on skin. Projection is moderate to strong in the first 2–3 hours.

Overall, Aseel Special Edition offers a nuanced unisex leather experience. Elegant, minimally animalic, and on par with much more hyped fragrances. Good for those who appreciate sweeter compositions and are not afraid of florals.

A Caramel Beauty with Nuclear Performance

Aseel Special Edition is another captivating homerun from the house of Arabian Oud.

SCENT: Aseel Special Edition is bursting with vanilla and caramel based sweetness while being insistently, though not distractingly, ozonic throughout the wearing. For me, the orange blossom (one of my favorite notes in perfumery) diminishes fairly quickly after the opening - playing more of a supportive role to the caramel. However, it never completely leaves the stage. During the dry down, I also picked up a slender, enjoyable patchouli accord. This is excellent.

LONGEVITY: For me, at least 12 to 24 hours with 3 sprays. Add this to the short list of things that would likely survive the apocalypse.

SILLAGE: Immense radiation. Along with, Resala this has the strongest projection of any fragrance I've experienced from the brand. 2 sprays will be all you need.

BOTTLE: I'm sure the gold-colored horseshoe will appeal to many, but I find it garish. Admittedly, the overall presentation, including the box, is impressive.

VALUE FOR MONEY: Unless you make this your daily, the 110ml of this powerhouse should last you an eternity. When considered with the delightfulness of the scent itself, this is an immense value.

Stunning.

This is my first fragrance from this house, I am pretty damn impressed. It is advertised as a Men's fragrance but I find this perfectly unisex. I will have to admit that this gives off Gentle Fluidity Gold vibes. This one is alot more beastly and in your face but in a wonderful way. It's vanillic, ozonic, a little fruity and the ambergris is done really well so it is there but it isn't over powering. So it makes it kind of fresh without being considered a "freshie". This has long-lasting power with a large scent bubble. 10/10 would recommend!

Oh yes, I like it!

I really liked the Aseel Special Edition. I really liked the combination of fruity sweetness and oriental notes. The longevity on my skin is around 10 hours with a successful sillage, especially at the beginning.

The top note starts sweet and fruity thanks to mulberries with a subtle freshness. The heart note smells gourmand with caramel but also floral thanks to orange blossom and rose water. In the base, there are oriental spices and a good creaminess. I recognize bourbon vanilla, benzoin, ambergris as well as some cinnamon. Over time, balsamic notes and a certain woodiness also resonate.

Yes, yes - the Aseel Special Edition is truly beautifully made and successful. For me, the scent is also rather unisex. I would like to thank Sören for the bottling.
