cool & cozy
Off the top this is a breath of fresh air. A definite tea note, but i would almost say earl grey rather than oolong, due to the bergamot that accompanies it. Its very light, and almost plays a little hide & seek game, where its light & barely there, and then smokey, woodsey, and very substantial for a spell. a few minuites in it reminds me a little of annick goutal encens flamboyant, and then it mellows and the refreshing tea & smooth "grey" woods return. The leather is dry, and almost makes me think of pearly grey suede. Oolang infini gives a feel of a somehow cool, but cozy and contemplative scent, that plays in waves, and unfolds gently from fresh and light, to smoky and complex in the drydown, like the conclusion of a good book. And indeed, i smell the leather binding, and the evocation of a memory here... Cold winter sunlight through the window, and the scents of leather & good tea, a blanket and a fire, when ocassionally i catch a rouge whiff of cold, fresh air that brings juniper, & smoke. A lovely fragrance, i believe it would be great on a man, although it worked better for me than my husband. It does come & go quickly, which gives it a casual feel, but i too would love to see how it would do in a higher concentration. Beautiful fragrance.

A Visit to a Tea House
You enter a tea house, and the greeter hands you spice. Then she blows through a carnation held in her other hand. The result strikes you as a well-balanced and oriental, engrossing and engaging. It soon grows spicier still, but the carnation turns sweet and jammy to help compensate. The spice quickly reveals itself as black pepper. Tea? Not for thee, yet the fragrance feels relaxed, so perhaps tea notes are skulking in the background like stage hands.

You find your way to a quiet table off to the side. Twenty minutes pass and then pepper bursts into the tea house and trashes the place, drunk, shouting and making demands. You think, "If only this were an actual tea, it would be enjoyable." Thursday, you revisit the tea house and find that black pepper fails to show. This leads to a a subdued experience dominated by carnation, which strangely doesn't seem to be quite memorable or effective.

In six hours, you become antsy and need to stretch. By eight, you find yourself outside the Oolang Infiniti establishment.

You reflect. Either version of Oolang Infiniti wasn't quite right, though you enjoyed the memorable experience. You decide to capture your feelings in prose and determine to leave the tea house as place best experienced by others.

A favourite gentle tea scent, impossible to overapply
Mild and gentle, floral and white tea scent (despite the name, it doesn’t smell like oolong tea) that dries down to a clean white musk and some faint woods. Low projection, but reasonable longevity for me, though I know some people find it disappears quickly on them. I do feel like it would be very difficult to overspray this—I always spray 3 or 4 times with this one, and I’m normally a one spray person so this feels outrageous! But it’s necessary with Oolang Infini.

It’s a skin scent, but one I can still smell on my skin 12 hours later. It’s great for days where I want scent but don’t want to be perfumey, if that makes sense. Particularly good on very hot days. I’ve had my bottle for a few years and IMO it has gotten better with age.

Powdery tea and fresh leather
I have an incredibly high hit rate with Atelier Cologne; this was my only real miss. The tea-leather combo is incredibly powdery on my skin, and the musk and white florals only make it worse. Leather is always hit-or-miss for me, and this is a miss. It’s a very “cool” leather. Not quite car seat leather, but in the same zone.

Day at the Beach
Don't worry, this is not an aquatic scent. To this day, I don't understand why so many people associate aquatic perfumes with a vacation by the sea. When I think of Calone & Co., I rather think of cleaning products and chemistry kits instead of sun, sand, salt, and water.

But why do I think of a day at the beach when it comes to Oolang Infini? Well, the scent reminds me of how the skin smells after such a day in the evening. Before I step into the shower and remove all the sand from my body, which has made itself comfortable not only on my legs and feet but everywhere on my skin. Additionally, there's a layer of salt that feels dry when I run my hands over it. The sea leaves salty traces on the skin. And just like the sand and a hint of humanity, I can smell this on myself in the evening after spending a day at the beach. A scent so unmistakable and so beautiful. This is exactly how vacation by the sea smells to me.

And this is also how Oolang Infini by Atelier Cologne smells. Again, one that I would have never thought of, but there are simply lovely people here who think ahead. And even though this is a gentle scent with leather, it doesn't bother me at all.

In this fragrance, sandalwood clearly dominates. And it's fine, not synthetic sandalwood. From the very first spray, I can immediately draw parallels to Etro Musk, which I have and love. The musk notes, the sandalwood, and also something delicate floral (here jasmine is listed, which I think fits better than the rose listed in Etro) create this skin scent for me. Warm skin, kissed by the sun, and a bit of salt is also in play.

A bit of sweat too. This is ensured by the leather note. While the Etro remains overall a bit cleaner, this one has a subtle portion of humanity in its baggage. However, it never becomes too much. It's simply cozy and beautiful.

Interestingly, I don't smell the tea at all here. At least I have no tea association, even though I am a tea drinker. The citrus notes are also very restrained. Anyone looking for a non-citrusy summer scent is definitely not wrong here. And anyone looking for a beautiful sandalwood scent is just as right. Yes, I miss sandalwood in the note listing, but this is so much a sandalwood scent. My nose can't be that wrong.

Conclusion: Beautiful. But for me personally, the Etro remains a notch more beautiful (as it is less human). The sillage is very low for both. In terms of longevity, the Etro also comes out on top.

A heartfelt thank you to the lovely Delightful for the testing opportunity. I love such wonderful surprises. When I expect nothing and in the end, such a beautiful scent awaits me. Wonderful!

If you're looking for an oolong tea,I wouldn't recommend this one. It's a clear, "bleached" tea, so it has almost no flavor.bitter musk.

Fresh and sharp green tea in a woody, slightly sweet and smoky setting. Sadly the drydown is nowhere near as exciting as the great opening.

A blend of jasmine tea and smoky oolong tea with a splash of lemon. Plus soft suede with warm wood + delicate musk fluff.

Actually a beautifully composed tea scent, but so extremely fleeting: Maybe you should spray yourself completely or shower with it?

Delicate light tea with an elegant neroli-lemon note, sillage is rather absent. Quite nice but also quite weak.

Fresh-spicy and unique tea dream. Unfortunately, a particularly fleeting scent of the kind "dreamed and already forgotten upon waking." What a pity!
