Prima, Donna!
Donna is a tribute to the Italian port city of Portofino, beautifully situated on the Mediterranean. A lovely inspiration to create this light yet charismatic fragrance. Donna means woman. Perhaps a bit unoriginal, the feminine traits cannot be denied, yet I believe it is suitable for both genders.

Before I tried Donna (many thanks to Ghislaine), I was not familiar with the scent. After reading some opinions about it, I thought, it must be the one!
So I ordered it blind and awaited it eagerly. And I was not disappointed.

Donna starts off very fresh; the first impression almost reminds me of menthol. The lemon is immediately present and proves that it can smell natural in perfumes. No trace of bathroom cleaner or dish soap. Shortly after, the apple makes its presence known. Very natural, zesty, sour, and fresh. I love crisp Granny Smith apples and am delighted by this captured aroma. For a brief moment, the lemon smells sweet and reminds me of crushed lemon candies. This impression quickly fades, probably due to the olive leaf. The fruits combine into a Mediterranean, refreshing duo, garnished with a hint of spice. It awakens you and lifts your spirits. A lovely start; this must be how the morning in Portofino smells.

In the heart, the lemon continues to show a very bright side. Together with the apple, it creates a sour note that feels transparent and weightless. Ginger supports the scent with a smooth, gently spicy sharpness. The flowers remain more in the background. They can be perceived but do not make the scent heavy or powdery. The cedarwood provides a cool breeze like a pleasant gust from the sea. The woody notes slowly creep in and form an aromatic base. Musk adds clean and fluffy accents.

The longevity is in the green zone at about seven hours. The sillage is not to be underestimated; however, the scent becomes very close to the body over time, making it perfect for hot days.
The bottle is very beautiful. It features the small, nested houses that are so typical of Italy. The spray mist could be a bit finer.
For me, it’s a scent for everyday wear, sports, and relaxed lounging. As mentioned, the fragrance embodies a casual, elegant sportiness. Very natural, quite Italian. The perfume shines best in summer, as it exudes the most charm.

Since Donna is fresh, spicy, citrusy, woody, and minimally aquatic, and reveals very little of its floral notes, I can easily imagine it on a man. Don’t hesitate, dear male perfume lovers!

I have found it, my perfect summer scent, completely unplanned and unexpectedly.
One immediately feels transported to the beautiful Mediterranean town. After a little cooling off in the sea, you settle down on the fragrant wooden dock that juts out into the sea. While watching the little fishing boats slowly drifting in the midday heat, you enjoy a large glass of ice-cold, homemade lemonade and take a hearty bite of an aromatic green apple. How beautiful the simple things can be. Simply wonderful, my Primadonna!

Had to smile internally....
... when I read that this fragrance is supposed to smell like D&G Light Blue. Well, you often hear that and then it turns out to be completely untrue.
But I have to agree with my two previous commentators, it really does smell just like it. Only Donna lasts longer on me and the base is spicier and more intense.
Is there anyone among you who doesn't know D&G Light Blue? Well, then here’s a little brief description of Donna.
Fresh and zesty at the beginning, spicy-floral in the heart, and soft-woody at the end. A very nice fresh and citrusy scent, but by no means too harsh. It has no sharp edges, yet it's not boring. I hardly notice the ginger and the flowers stay more in the background. The base lasts a long time, becoming beautifully creamy-woody. Not too heavy, not too light. Very well done. But probably copied, since D&G has been around longer.

The perfect summer fragrance, I tell you. As I said, much better than Light Blue, but also not cheaper. This perfume must have at least one drawback.

A Lot of Wood
I have never been to Portofino. But it is beautiful there, in this small harbor town in northern Italy, very close to Genoa. The narrow, multi-story houses, plastered in all shades of yellow, stand closely together. In front, blue water in the harbor bay with colorful boats and white yachts, behind it lush greenery in the form of abundant Mediterranean flora. Very Italian, picturesque. Che bello.

The typical Portofino houses are immortalized on the pretty heavy glass bottle, which also carries a mini-booklet around its neck. The fragrance pyramid is explained in two languages, and there is also a tiny little history of the Portofino sailing yacht and regatta tradition.

Because the scent is quite sporty. Italian sporty, not American sporty or even drugstore sporty. What I mean is: The sportiness here is casual, laid-back, chic, the sun is shining, it’s warm, you wear white clothing, eat healthy Mediterranean cuisine, and enjoy a good wine even at lunch. Funds are available and life is carefree.

Donna by Acqua di Portofino is a dominant woody scent, with the wood being drenched in lime-green citrusy-hesperidic essences. This strong scent duality (citrusy - woody) is indeed something Donna shares with the other Italian Light Blue, however, Donna is significantly woodier and more refined. The top note is citrusy-fresh and almost a little green (the apple is not detectable to my nose). In the heart note, ginger dominates for me, bringing a fine bright and fresh, almost ethereal sharpness. The flowers are just a subtle accompaniment. The base, which is almost present from the very beginning, holds the strong woods that smell intensely fresh and cut open, perfectly enhanced by the other fragrance notes to achieve this Italian radiance. The musk accentuates a fine powderiness.

Great in summer, but also wearable in spring and even in golden autumn, because it radiates a certain warmth for me. Longevity and sillage are top, by the way.

Holiday Mood at the Mediterranean
Since the weekend, summer has broken out. Quite suddenly and right in the middle of May. I stifle the anxious question of how long it will last this time and instead give in to the strong desire to wear a wonderful summer fragrance. I spray Donna by AdP into my hair, my ultimate holiday mood scent.

I can almost taste the citrus fruits on my tongue, real lemon is caressed by powdery spiciness and cushioned by ginger and fine, fresh musk. This is what summer smells like! Jasmine and magnolia enter into a delicate liaison and remain subtly in the background. An almost green, yet light-footed woodiness gives the fragrance a foundation. Longingly, I think of the Mediterranean, the turquoise blue of the water, the warm sea air, the incredible light. Herbs grow on the mountain slopes and, stimulated by the warm midday sun, they release their aromas. I am drawn out onto the home balcony, which must now serve as a substitute domicile. It is pleasantly warm, a light breeze plays with my hair and envelops me again and again in clouds full of holiday fantasies. Novamenco is playing on the radio. Hhhhmmmm, I close my eyes, just let me dream...

Delicate Elf Scent
The other comments say it all.

For me, Donna is a treat among fragrances. Casual, fluffy, lovely, powdery.

The lemon at the beginning smells totally real and natural.
Although the scent starts fresh and zesty, a powdered sugar-like note soon follows, without slipping into sticky sweetness. While Donna still feels a bit playful here, it becomes more elegant and softer with the floral notes.

But in the heart note, it becomes elfin and invites daydreaming.

I really like it and it fits better as a spring or summer scent, as it is light and uplifting. For me, it also has a delicate aquatic note, somehow airy.
However, I must also immediately point out the sillage and longevity issues.
But with the beautiful base, it starts to weaken and soon you can’t smell anything anymore. Such a shame.

Effectively fights limescale + dirt. Suitable for all shiny surfaces like glass, tiles, and bathroom ceramics. Followed by a cold sauna.

No comparison to Light Blue. Donna has more elegance + Italian chic with its light spiciness + it transports you to southern lands :)

This one is really great. Subtle, soft, juicy-citrusy and fruity with a pleasant woody sweetness. A candidate for my wish list!

Thumbs up, really beautiful.
I almost wish I hadn't found out about the scent twin.
But it's true - it's even better! :D

A warm summer day in Southern Italy, the little mountain road winds up to the olive groves. Overripe lemons smell sweet & fruity.

Freshly made, sparkling lemonade, a bit too sweet. I like a few notes! Olive? I like it. Summer-ready, nice, quite okay.

Sweet apples, warm, woody notes; jasmine adds a touch of feminine beauty to the scent, sandalwood - pleasant, woody warmth - great.
