Who wouldn't want a rendezvous at Cap Ferrat right now?
Recently, someone said to me that this January feels like the 13th month of the year 2020. The situation is still tense, the weather unpleasant - so one has to make oneself comfortable at home. Fragrances can help transport your mind to another place, and Rendez-vous au Cap Ferrat certainly lives up to its name.

Godet's creation is by no means an ordinary aquatic, but is primarily inspired by the landscape of the Côte d'Azur: rocky, green coast and the view of the deep blue Mediterranean. Instead of Calone, Dihydromyrcenol, or similar notes, the maritime aspect of the fragrance presents itself more subtly as a salty/mineral note. Bergamot and lemon are more of a backdrop, as the truly dominant facets here are the aromatic and green ones. Juniper berry is particularly prominent in the top note, with thyme even more so. Later, woody notes come into play - I mainly think of vetiver and cedar - and thankfully, there is no sweetness at all.

The overall impression is therefore extremely natural. Some might even describe it as a bottled longing for a place. The various notes are really well balanced, but one small drawback for me is that Rendez-vous au Cap Ferrat is overall a bit less fresh than other representatives of this genre. At the beginning, I would even describe it as having a relatively dense texture, yet the fragrance never feels particularly heavy. And this brings me to another point of criticism: it quickly becomes a skin scent on me, which hardly projects and could benefit from a bit more lightness. The longevity is fine, and perhaps warmer temperatures will help - which I am already longing for, just like the possibility of truly traveling again and not just in thought.

Fresh scent in pure culture
Nothing sweet disturbs the gentle breeze
Spicy the bushes and the land, salty and clear the sea
Dreaming at the Cape!

Walk by the Mediterranean
Herb bushes and lemon groves
The trees were sweating resins
On a bed of vetiver moss
Not far to the Cap

Very straightforward scent with sharp green, distinctly woody, and bright resinous notes. Not overly charming, but perfect as a clear statement.

The softest aromatic-fine sea salt breeze since Parfumo exists (for me ;)). It's on my 'wish-list-for-my-man'!

The citrusy and fruity pleasure is unfortunately spoiled by a musky dampness.
Unfortunately.
But it definitely has its fan base.
Not for me..

A beautiful, rather classic summer scent. First citrusy fresh, then herbal green, finishing with a dry woody note. All-rounder!

Mediterranean atmosphere without the vacation idyll. Powerful, energetic, aromatic, and calm. Perfect for me to unwind.

Spicy-dense & strict like Giacometti's sculptures in the park of the Fondation Maeght. Green-resinous light pine forests around Saint-Paul-de-Vence.

It growls and creaks, the Wachol approaches!
Olive green sprouts around Galban. Indeed -
it resins on Thyme. Hard
the Dernholz rolls thick like the forest.

When the heat lays like a hot blanket over the landscape, this is the perfect scent. Cool, crisp refreshment with all sorts of herbs.
