Truly unforgettable

"Unforgettable" used to be an Avon chypre blockbuster. Its formulation with its complex potpourri of flowers and spices and the chypre base generated a pulsating aura. The base with patchouli and leather could be read as a trifle pungent or pervasive today. It gives the perfume a certain dryness that is a perfect counterpoint to the flowers and spices (clove, cinnamon) in the heart. A small masterpiece of the 1960's, "Unforgettable" stands apart from most of the Avon sisters and brothers which followed. It is not in the least bland but well mannered and elegant. A civilised harmony.
