Gardenia & Cardamom Banana Republic 2019

The only way that I can see that it's unisex is that it's so light that people may not realize you're wearing a gardenia fragrance. You'll smell it for a little bit, but before it's time for a coffee break, you'll wonder where it went.

I don't really pick up on cardamom with this. It would be more accurate to name this "Gardenia with a pinch of cardamom". It's a faint white floral with only a touch of spice. It doesn't contrast or add dimension to the fragrance, which was something I was hoping for when I bought this.

If you're going to wear this, and you want people to notice it, you have to overspray it. Projection is pretty weak, and it becomes a skin scent in about an hour. Spraying it on my shirt helped the fragrance stick around a little longer, but I still have to put the cloth right up to my nose to get a whiff of it.

The packaging is nice and upscale, but....who walks around showing that off?

I'll finish my bottle. Maybe. But if it goes weird before I do that, I won't feel terrible chucking it out. If you want an inexpensive gardenia scent that lasts, go get Elizabeth Taylor's Gardenia instead.
