Cool Breeze
Today it was already quite summery, and I felt that this scent was still far too cold for it. It is more of a diffuse breeze than a perfume. So light, fresh, and clear that I can easily imagine it at sweltering 40 degrees.

The opening is dominated by anise. Actually a note I dislike, but here it doesn’t smell like Ouzo and also not like synthetic mainstream freshness. It is a sweet yet dry and almost mineral anise note. Incredibly bright and clear, only perceived as a diffuse coolness in the extremely subtle projection, with a fresh sweetness on the skin.

As it develops, this modern and airy beginning transforms, and Mirra e Anice Stellato becomes more recognizable, almost classic. A green-grassy vetiver and slightly resinous-smoky myrrh come through quite prominently, and suddenly everything reminds me of a very bright, diffuse, and soft Eau Sauvage perfume. Of course, Mirra e Anice Stellato remains distinct, but I suspect it is the combination of these fragrance notes that creates a very similar vibe for me. However, the Dior feels denser, more balsamic, and sweeter. I really like the Dior, but I find the dry and bright expression of the Borsari rather limiting.

Despite the somewhat more classic base, the scent always remains just a hint of perfume. Good for humid climates over 40 degrees, or when you don’t want to smell perfumed (except on the skin) or want to spread a subconscious, diffuse aura.

Mirra e Anice Stellato is great and has shown me that I don’t generally hate anise. However, in the base, it seems to flatten out a bit for my taste.

Le Bohémian
Well, I can't say that I generally dislike so-called men's fragrances. Just look at Habit Rouge or Dior Homme. So, thank you EP for sending me this sample.

I am amazed by the lightness of this scent. It has something dance-like, free. In the opening, it is slightly woody and citrusy, and after a few minutes, a sweet anise note joins in, which smells just like the fresh plant when you rub the flower or the seeds.

Later, myrrh joins in, but not with brutal strength; rather gently, to accompany the light, bright floral note. The woody note is weaker here than at the beginning, but it increases again the longer the fragrance is on the skin, without becoming harsh or bitter.

Everything remains light, free, and carefree - like the life of a bohemian. Accordingly, the sillage is also light. The longevity on my skin is okay, but it may be different on men's skin.

This is a masculine scent that I like. However, it should also suit androgynous women well, or even the bank manager in elegant attire, hair tied back in a bun, only very subtly and "business-like" made up.

Light and Fine
Thanks to Igraine, I was able to test my third Borsari.

In my opinion, this fragrance has only one flaw, but unfortunately, it is a very significant one! It lasts on my skin as poorly as most Goutal fragrances.

The composition is extremely harmonious, and the scent progression is skillful. However, you have to reapply very often.

The fragrance starts with a fresh anise note and gently drifts into a sweet myrrh. The sandalwood note emerges in the middle of the heart note and softly leads into the woody-bitter drydown.

The fragrances from this Borsari series are Eau de Cologne, which explains the subtle longevity. Especially with this scent, I would have wished for more endurance. Nevertheless, it is best suited as a summer fragrance.

Conclusion: light and fine!

A Perfect Pair
Time and again, the forum asks for a lighter alternative to the well-known Terre d'Hermès - here it is! Contrary to what the name suggests, Mirra et Anice Stellato clearly follows the common cedarwood-vetiver line.

Cedarwood is the first thing you notice after spraying, followed by the anise, supported by a delicate citrus note. By the way, I perceive the spice much more as regular anise; star anise smells different.

Within the cedarwood-vetiver universe, Mirra e Anice Stellato occupies the position of a light, slender perfume. A play between biting-sharp anise-fennel notes on one hand, light bergamot, and softly integrated myrrh on the other defines its character. I perceive the lotus blossom note as a very subtle synthetic freshness, which is hardly noticeable. This has been handled very skillfully; you rarely see that!

Combining anise with cedarwood and vetiver is not new. It is also found in Kenzoair Intense, which is why it is used as a comparison scent. It quickly becomes clear: Mirra e Anice Stellato is the more delicate fragrance. While Kenzoair Intense, with its pronounced ouzo note, raises questions about wearability, the anise in Mirra e Anice Stellato takes a brighter, gentler, and above all, less alcoholic direction. The anise is brightened by bergamot, later by the increasingly prominent myrrh and white musk. Dark components, such as a cashmere wood note that emphasizes the ouzo character in the Kenzo scent, are completely absent. Kenzoair Intense is dark, noble, expressive, and good for the cold season, while Mirra e Anice Stellato serves as a light summer fragrance: bright and casual, with a hint of spice instead of citrus notes or marine freshness, it stands apart from the usual.

Thus, we have the perfect pair for fans of dry anise fragrances: Kenzoair Intense for winter and Mirra e Anice Stellato for summer - both are great!

Ouzo with gin in the shaker and then on the body. Light, but damn tasty. And above all, something different.
But it only works in summer.

Great, fresh scent, surely fantastic at 40°C. It starts with a cool breeze, but unfortunately fades a bit after that. A real tip, even though I usually hate anise.
