Fruity Boredom
Another fruity-fruity-fruity ... - honestly, WHO can tell them apart? The decade of the omnipresent fruit-salad is not yet over - even my new hairspray smells of it (no kidding!). This said (and still wondering if the decade is turning into a century or if OUD might stand a chance to take over) the BRUNO BANANI (the name gives it away, doesn't it?) smells sort of "okay" in its boring shampoo-like fruity way. And: Bruno B has a pretty poor sillage. Well, it costs about 8 Euros. (But is this bad news or good news?)

Terrible!
I wore this scent on one of my very first dates. Both turned out to be a debacle, the date and the fragrance. I was already in the city, on my way to the ice cream parlor where the meeting was supposed to take place, when I realized that I hadn't applied any perfume at home. Young and eager to impress Mr. X, I quickly rushed into the nearest drugstore - there wasn't enough time for a perfume shop - and fought my way through the limited selection there. I didn't want to spend too much money, after all, the risk of a bad purchase was high, so in my haste, I just sprayed three or four perfumes on a whim. Bruno Banani seemed fresh, fruity, and somewhat seductive at first spray. It was hot, and I didn't want to scare my date away with a heavy perfume hammer; besides, I figured he was the kind of guy who liked sporty, fresh scents. Even during the date, which turned out to be an absolute disaster, I could no longer stand the fragrance. It was stiflingly hot in the ice cream parlor, and I felt like I was simmering in my own sticky, artificial, cloyingly sweet perfume cloud. Nothing came of Mr. X and me, thankfully. The unintentionally pink, unfortunately still full bottle stood on my nightstand for what felt like an eternity, drawing my resentment as a perpetual reminder of the botched date. The fact that the pink Mr. Banani and I couldn't become friends was not due to the negative memories associated with it, but rather the cheap, synthetic sweetness that I couldn't stand even back then. I had to look up what was even supposed to be in it. Blackberry? I couldn't recognize that for the life of me. A fruit or flower is fundamentally unrecognizable; it's just one big, artificial mishmash. I continued to use the perfume reluctantly for occasions where it didn't really matter how I smelled (family visits, sports --> as long as I didn't stink) and then used the rest as a room fragrance, for spraying letters or similar nonsense, just to avoid throwing the bottle away and admitting my bad purchase. When the pink pest was finally empty, I was glad. Today, I stumbled upon a photo of Mr. X on a (so-called) social network, and the smell of Bruno Banani rose up in me again. I just had to get this comment out.

Overwhelmed by Raspberries
I want to write about a discontinued fragrance now. It is a good example of how taste changes once you train your sense of smell just a little bit.

A typical Bruno Banani. With the characteristic piercing plastic top note, well-known from Bruno Banani Woman. This time accompanied by a raspberry that smells more like plastic than anything else. There’s not much else going on here. The tea is the closest thing. But only with an underlying spiciness that doesn’t stand up to the omnipresent plastic.

I don’t find Made for Women particularly sweet, rather aquatic... raspberry water. If the other fragrance notes were a bit stronger, it might not be so bad. I find most raspberry scents terribly artificial. For me, it needs something floral to balance it out (Lady Million shows how it’s done). But unfortunately, that’s missing here. This makes it one-dimensional and annoying. When I bought the fragrance in 2011, I found it interesting, but I only wore Made for Women twice because I quickly got tired of that plastic note. I had a similar experience with Bruno Banani Woman.

I remember the longevity being very weak. With an initial massive sillage that fades very quickly. That’s also something you know from the brand.

I wouldn’t recommend this fragrance to anyone. It triggers a massive flight response in me.

My latest acquisition...
...and my first comment. :)

The scent wasn't even my discovery. My colleague, with whom I wandered through the perfume shops on that rainy Saturday, sniffed it out for me. She knows my preference for sweet, fruity perfumes. And Bruno Banani - Made for women fits perfectly into my target profile. :) Not quite as sweet as my other "treasures" (Yes, I am a confessed Escada lover and adore the ultra-sweet sugar fruit bombs ;) )

It is really very blackberry-like, and it remains fruity in my nose; I can barely and briefly detect the peach, nothing more.

Unfortunately, the end comes far too quickly, and after a few hours it is hardly noticeable anymore. But at that price, I didn't expect anything else. Despite the short-lived pleasure, the scent earns a permanent spot in my collection! :)

too watery,,,,
Since Banani fragrances obviously sell well, I also tried to test MADE FOR WOMAN. While perhaps the initial notes might have been a compromise, the overall character of this fragrance was so "drugstore-like," very light and quickly faded.

"Made for women" is fruity, delicious, very aquatic (water in the base note) but smells artificial and cheap. I am not a fan of Bruno Banani's fragrances. They all smell very synthetic, especially this one and "Bruno Banani Woman."

A very fruity scent, sweet, fresh, veeeery strongly watery but nothing special. This is simply boring. All the way from top to base note. The fragrance radiates a certain "emptiness"...

An aquatic raspberry scent that feels beautifully fresh with green tea and is also great to wear in the height of summer. Lasts about 8-10 hours on my skin.

Although I find the scent very synthetic, it doesn't give me headaches and I feel fresh wearing it.

Chilled raspberry is my summary. It really comes off cold, unfortunately also synthetic. BB has better options.

Banani hairspray: rough amounts of raspberry with green tea and violet. Banani-like reach and endurance.

Artificial peach, I wore it over 10 years ago. Why did I like it back then...?
