Sweet, salty plastic

I actually don't like this, at all. Burberry is my favourite fragrance house, however with this new release I am rather underwhelmed.

It smells synthetic to my nose, a little rubbery like the bottle it comes in. It's true that it smells like D&G Light Blue, which I don't even care for, however, (I can't believe I'm saying this), I'd choose Light Blue over Burberry Sport any day.

Salty plastic is all I can smell in the opening. The mandarin orange barely features in my opinion.

The scent tends to become more aquatic as it develops into the heart. The honeysuckle and Carribean magnolia aren't as floral as I had expected. They seem to be un-naturally sweet.

Musk overwhelms me into the drydown. There's too much of it for my personal tastes. Burberry Sport ended on a headache for me unfortunately.

The lasting power is incredibly good, as most Burberry scents are. I am extremely disappointed however that I have come across a Burberry fragrance that I don't enjoy, which was something I thought was never possible until today.

No Sports

Since Rossi is located opposite the DHL shop, I thought I might as well stop by for a sniff.

The newspaper had announced Burberry Sport as a special offer, and I had never gone wrong with Burberrys before.
So I decided to take a whiff.
I expected something fresh and invigorating - but I am confused.

I am greeted by a dull laundry detergent note reminiscent of Weißer Riese, with a hint of stain remover added.
Does the cardboard strip distort the scent?
So I bravely applied it to my skin.
No, the impression remains biting and soapy, with a salty background.
With good will, I can still detect a hint of mandarin, but the rest of the ingredients get lost in a kind of lye.

This scent does not call me to engage in sports activities - if anything, then to do the "big laundry".

I echo Churchill's words - no sports.

P.S. Or was the tester old?

For Woman?

The first whiff was already disastrous: it bites the nose. Or did I just think I smelled the salt that is supposed to be in the top note?

After 5 minutes: much better & somehow interesting (but why do I think: "man"). The conclusion after an intense sniffing session clarifies everything: too harsh, hard, powerful, and above all too masculine. I find that Burberry Sport exudes an aura of masculinity, especially at the beginning, which fades more and more over time, but the first impression just won't leave me (I really have the "For Woman" tester in my hand :-D). Nothing against powerful women's fragrances - quite the opposite - but for my taste, I would prefer something more oriental and sensual or heavily sweet.

This is simply not the kind of fragrance I like, and Burberry & I have unfortunately never clicked.

Through the Dust-Dry Desert to the Sea....

It's quite funny and also very unique what everyone associates with individual scents.

My friend and I once had the glorious idea to plan a spontaneous trip to Texas. We are both big fans of the USA and of course also "experts" on the USA ;)
We did this in August.... Well, exactly in August! In the hottest month of the year with daytime temperatures over 40 degrees and sometimes 80% humidity.
We drove for days through the dust-dry desert to finally reach the Gulf of Mexico and breathe in the fresh sea air... We were sweating from every pore, but when we arrived, everything was forgotten and only that moment at the sea mattered.
And this moment is exactly what this perfume represents for me.
It starts with a strong and powdery dryness... I can clearly smell the salty note, but for me, this note makes the perfume very unique.

I really don't understand what this scent has to do with sports.
For me, sport fragrances are very fresh and lightly fruity.... This one is not fresh at all.
It also reminds me a bit of a less creamy version of Burberry Beat...
Because some fragrance notes are indeed very similar to me.

Sport is Murder!

Well... uh... here it is... *sniff* ... yes... hm... *sniff again* ... hm... yes... um... *???*

I could go on like this indefinitely, but it wouldn't help anyone. So I’ll try to put my impressions into a bit more words than just points:

To me, it absolutely does not smell like a sport fragrance. Especially not for a woman, I completely agree with Blanche on that. For a man, however, it feels way too floral. Who wants to have a spring bouquet with muscles and leg warmers running beside them... oO Not me!

The problem lies in the fragrance notes - or rather their chosen direction and dosage: the mandarin is more sweet-sticky than zesty-fresh, and the salt is non-existent. The heart note is not perceivable individually and comes across as floral, dominating everything. In the dry down, you can smell musk, but only with a bit of imagination. And then there’s supposed to be cedarwood, but where???

Maybe you have to be sporty to like this scent. Maybe you have to be sporty to understand this scent. I, on the other hand, just can't warm up to this fragrance and have to rely on the old warm-up. I'd rather run a marathon than buy this scent. Sorry.
