Lazy Rainy Morning

Instead of taking the easy way out of designing a "Rain" fragrance with petrichor. Morillas played with ingredients, and gave us this gem right here.

Musky, calming tea, with a citrus opening and a woodsy musky dry down, come together to simulate a feeling of raindrops falling on the windowsill. I'm a big fan of this frag, interesting composition. Clean without effort and without smelling like a shower gel / blue fragrance. Great alternative for those actually. Not gonna project as much as projection junkies would like it to, but that's the point of this, it's clean and you can smell it only if someone comes close to you.

Does it smell like rain? In an interesting way, yes. It reminds me of waking up on a rainy morning in clean sheets and I have a self care day. As soon as I get my hands on a good priced bottle I'm picking it up.

Balade sauvage and sunday lazy brother

tested today at the sephora in lyon part dieu.

we are really on a mid-season perfume. Neither refreshing nor warming. It is the same smell as the Margiela Sunday Lazy perfume that I had already evaluated on the site.

There is also a similarity with Dior Private Collection Balad Sauvage. There is a smell of figs that stands out a lot, so it is a fruity perfume. discreet sweetness.

the cheapest alternative to margiela and especially to dior private collection.

From Rain to Downpour

Upon application, I thought: "Wow, this is a really good fresh-aquatic scent. It could be worth a bottle!" But I don't go to the perfume store and test a fragrance just to buy it right away; I also give it time to unfold. For better or for worse.

Bvlgari Man Rain Essence starts off beautifully fresh and is very lightly, non-spicy aquatic. A bit like one would imagine a water scent. I would have wished for petrichor to adequately capture the rain theme, but okay, dozens of pseudo-rain fragrances have already failed at that, and one doesn't want to be too demanding.
Unfortunately, the fragrance becomes spicier over time and thus takes on a standard aquatic note. I am absolutely not a fan of white lotus, and this particular note starts to bother me more and more as it develops. Additionally, Bvlgari Man Rain Essence also becomes subtly green (the tea) and thus loses its lightness. It becomes somewhat of an average scent. Nice, but a bit boring. I am a little disappointed.

It is suitable at the beginning for sports, everyday life, and leisure. Later on, it is more for business.
The sillage is solid and dissipates after about 3 hours. The end of projection for me is reached after about 6½ hours. The bottle is, as with the entire Bvlgari Man line, great.

What do I do now with this fragrance? Great start, not (quite) so great development. I jumped on it when it was at its cheapest. But will it eventually fall victim to decluttering? Have I let myself be too seduced by the refreshing start? Perhaps I have.
Anyone still searching for a scent that smells like fresh rain will not find enlightenment here, that much is certain.

A Warm Rainy Day in Helgoland

During our summer vacation in 2023 in Büsum at the North Sea, we decided to visit the island of Helgoland for the very first time after all the years we had kept returning here.

Anyone who knows Helgoland is aware that there isn't much to see. A nice town center (if you can call it that), surrounded by various duty-free shops.
Since I buy a fragrance as a memento on every vacation and associate it with that trip forever, I naturally had to go into one of those stores.

So I sniffed my way through all the shops and pretended that there wasn't basically the same selection in every store.
At that time, I was still a complete beginner when it came to perfumes. I had just started to really engage with scents, but I had already smelled just about every type of fragrance.
Therefore, it was always something special for me to smell a fragrance that was completely new to me.
And there it was, the Bvlgari Man Rain Essence. A bottle that I personally didn't find very attractive, surrounded by a younger couple who were just being recommended the fragrance by a saleswoman.
I listened in discreetly and decided, after the couple had passed on the fragrance, to give it a spray.

I didn't expect much, as I said, I didn't find the bottle very appealing.
But the scent convinced me right away! It reminded me of the generally rainy day on this beautiful little island. For me, it was like the scent of Helgoland to take with me.
When I wear the scent today and close my eyes, I see myself in a light drizzle at around 23 degrees, with my favorite music in my ears, sitting in a beach chair by the sea in Helgoland and enjoying the moment.

So much for my not really objective opinion on this fragrance. Thank you to everyone who actually read this through. :D
Objectively speaking, I find the scent really nice, but not particularly special. By now, I have smelled several fragrances that were at least similar.
Unfortunately, I find the longevity/sillage to be very weak.

This was my first review on Parfumo, so please don't be too harsh. :D
