A wonderful start into the world of leather
Dear fragrance enthusiasts,
having started my journey through the wonderful world of fragrances about three years ago and having been a "passive scroller" on this platform for some time now, I am now writing my first review. The focus will be on Revolucíon by Carner Barcelona - a fragrance that I really like and have therefore been wearing almost every day over the past few weeks.
Inspired - or should I call it "influenced"? - I was inspired to make this purchase by a very popular "fragrance critic" who praised Revolucíon as a more restrained version of Ganymede by Marc Antoine Barrois. As I had been looking for a leather fragrance suitable for everyday wear for some time at this point and a certain note that I couldn't identify made Ganymede unwearable for me, I tested Revolucíon at my local perfumery - I was immediately convinced!
About the fragrance:
The fragrance starts with fresh and slightly spicy notes, probably from orange blossom, thyme and violet leaf. I can only guess at mate. After a short time, saffron and, above all, leather are very present. The saffron is never too sweet, but together with the leather note creates a wonderfully sweet-tart and, above all, incredibly soft and fine leather accord. As far as I know, saffron is often used in perfume production to create a leather accord - and this works perfectly here! Finally, there is a creamy woodiness that is neither too dark nor too light. It provides the leather accord with a wonderful foundation on which it can unfold.
Overall, the fragrance is very airy, light and fresh, despite its woody, leathery character. And it is precisely this fragrance character that makes it so versatile in my eyes - I can hardly imagine a situation in which Revolucíon would be perceived as inappropriate. I've been wearing it as a signature since November - for every occasion and with every outfit (in my opinion, the effect a fragrance has on others is significantly influenced by the personality of the wearer, but also by their outward appearance). The fragrance is also very popular in my environment.
On durability and sillage:
I perceive the fragrance on myself for about 6-7 hours with 3-4 sprays. At first I was disappointed as it fell short of my expectations. But: friends and acquaintances told me that the fragrance is very present in a pleasant way. Even at a time when I only perceive it very faintly. My perception of its longevity therefore seems to differ from that of my friends, for whom the fragrance has a much better longevity and stronger presence. I would therefore rate the longevity and sillage as good overall.
Overall, I can recommend Revolucíon to anyone or everyone (I find it unisex wearable in principle) who is looking for a woody, leathery fragrance that is present without being too overpowering. It impresses with its versatility. And: ultimately, it is also relatively inexpensive.
