El Born a must have for gourmand lovers.

This smells rum raisin ice-cream or Rum Cake.
Either way, this is deliciousness incumbent, a must have in any gourmand collectors possession.

I received two unsolicited compliments today on way to work, one at work... and a few head turns on the train also.
Again this is a simply ravishing fragrance, that anyone one with a sweet tooth will need to have.

There's no rum note in this frag, but you will get a hint of it.
The Benzoin, Vanilla, Honey & Peru Balsam shine throughout this fragrance. Truly truly unique!
Can't speak badly about this jewel.

I used six sprays...both wrist, back & front of my neck, chest, and front of my shirt.

Will I buy this again?...Yes(This time a full bottle).

Does this fragrance enter BEAST MODE, good, just okay or weak sauce at best? Sexy Beast Mode.

Perhaps a nice mild to warm weather vanilla

I wore this for the first time yesterday and I must say I enjoyed it quite a bit. It’s very vanilla forward to my nose, though not an in your face vanilla. More of a “reminds me of a bakery” sort of vanilla. The most prevalent sensation I got was pastry. I’m guessing between the honey, heliotrope and vanilla that makes sense. It reminds me quite a bit of Cafe Cabanel and Les Indes Galantes, both having Cécile Zarokian as the creative nose behind them. Given that I’m a sucker for anything Cécile has created, this one resembling those to my scent memory, I was easily won over by this. I would say, however, that while I was initially and have continued to be reminded of those by this (I had to spray it on tester strips several times today lol), this one does strike me as lighter, where I think of those aforementioned as more mild to cold weather. This is a win in my book and I’m happy to have it on the shelf!

The nearest Baskin Robbins please?

I get a boozy vanilla with dried fruit from El Born. Beyond that, i can't pick out the individual notes listed as above. Perhaps they mesh well to form this linear scent, which would appeal to gourmand vanilla lovers. I initially dismissed this as too sweet and not boozy enough but a few more wearings where I was constantly reminded of Baskin Robbins' Rum&Raisin ice cream, was enough for me to admit that I want this gourmand scent. Not as boozy but certainly more friendly than Mona di Orio's Vanille, an austere, dry and spicy vanilla. The sillage for El Born is good and longevity on clothes moderate for me, ranging about 6-8 hours.

A new dimension to gourmand scents!!

A new dimension to gourmand scents, smells like a rum/vanilla cake, kinda boozy vanilla not cloying at all, it smells so good, and it performs very well too.

It smells like a warm luscious dessert, creamy and kinda spicy. very complex yet easy to wear.

Good work from Carner Barcelona, I bought this one as a blind buy and it didn't disappoint me at all.

Surprisingly Good from an "F" Tier niche brand

In all my years as a perfume enthusiast, I have not found a niche brand like Carner. It is overpriced retail and offers so little in return, often placing it in the lowest possible value tier. Through pure luck or some cosmic justice, honey, fig, benzoin, and Peru balsam were the notes that pushed me to give them one last chance and, as often as before, prove myself wrong when judging a brand too quickly.

TOP NOTES
The initial opening is lively and refreshing, featuring lemon and bergamot at the forefront. However, this bright sensation fades quickly as the more affluent, intricate notes emerge. The skillful incorporation of angelica distinguishes this fragrance from the standard citrus openings in so many other creations. This herbal element introduces an unexpected richness, preventing the citrus from becoming overly bright or typical.

HEART NOTES
As the fragrance moves into its heart, citruses fade entirely and give their place to honey, licorice, and bouquet of jasmine and heliotrope, which never overwhelm. I love how the heliotrope’s almond-like quality adds a subtle gourmand touch while the jasmine provides just enough floral brightness to keep the composition from becoming too heavy or sweet.

BASE NOTES
I love how this one settles down to this cozy combination of benzoin, vanilla, and Peru balsam. It is a joy to behold.
The combination of vanilla, benzoin, and Peru balsam creates a rich, resinous foundation that reminds me of distant lands. What impresses me most is how the Australian sandalwood interacts with these resinous notes, which is detectable at its far dry down.

OVERALL
After spending considerable time with El Born, I’ve come to appreciate it more as a fragrance, even though its cute story doesn’t necessarily reflect in its notes. Funnily enough, this was the brand’s last chance for me before I diss them completely, and thankfully, we have a winner here. You owe yourself to check out this Huclier’s creation. Fantastic for spring and fall.
