Carner Barcelona / Drakon
For me it is the smell of a thick, old and dark forest, primeval forest. The beginning is also still peppery. In addition to the dark and rotten wood, it also has notes of cypress or fir, which are lighter than the old trees, which lighten up the tree itself.
smell. There is not much light in it, unless you still recognize the smell of orange flowers, which in itself is not the easiest. In addition, these notes are combined with the smell of leather, so in my opinion rather a 'darker player'. Over time, however, a certain embalming appears due to sandalwood. The durability of the smell of her very good, about 8-9 hours, while the smell can only be seen on the male body.

worty scent
It's a beautiful green, balsamic perfume with an "animal" background.
It very faithfully follows those that were powerhouses of the 80s and 90s, those green perfumes, very intense, very balsamic, that smelled of conifers and leather. If we want to match it with something, we can take as an example Arrogance pour Homme, the original formulation of '82, here... the genre is that... a mix of antaues, kouros, jules and silvestre, mixed together and slightly amplified.
The performances are "modern", very amplified by the chemistry and not very "natural", but they do not alter the goodness of the perfume.
100% masculine, very decisive and tough, beautiful.
If I didn't have all those vintage perfumes that I mentioned above, I would definitely take it.

Ryu - The Forest Dragon
With a peppery thunderclap, it opens the eyes wide. Ryū, the forest dragon, lives at the other end of the night. It was probably the orange blossom falling through the shadow of the night that whispered to him about the appearance of the intruders. Enshrouded in legend and as a master over the forces of nature, he has lived since the dawn of time in the dark forest of Badashan. But for this gathering, for this final great challenge, he needs all his powers…

Like sharp pine needles
Ethereal sharp splendor
His eyes shine in the darkness of the night
Over steaming forest ground
Waving misty clouds of green
Smoldering fiery smoke
In the ancient wooden maw
Makes him magically shine
The legendary dragon
So that his leather-tanned scales
Offer him protection from the enemy troops

Ryū means dragon. In Japanese mythology, they are considered legendary, mystical creatures and are usually associated with qualities such as power, strength, determination, wisdom, and courage.

Jordi Fernández has excellently succeeded in bringing a Ryū to life through his olfactory interpretation. Right from the extremely dynamic opening, one feels the intensity of this fragrance. Primarily in green tones, an impressive peppery mélange leads the ride on the dragon at the beginning. One must surrender a bit to this play with the senses and allow this punch, as otherwise, the intensity could drive less experienced noses away. However, since we are dealing with a dragon, the theme is fully and consensually captured.

This intro is replaced or complemented by deep green and beautifully woody notes and facets. It creates the impression of floating above a woody, earthy forest floor. A mist that wafts over the skin, driven by the powerful peppery claws of the dragon. Everywhere it steams ethereally and green, one descends deeper and deeper into the forest and soon finds oneself hopelessly lost.

The interplay of the individual components is delicately balanced, and thus the dragon drives one ever forward, allowing one to precisely perceive the smoke emanating from the leathery scales, and the image of the forest dragon completes itself venerably. With his long claws, he has scratched countless trees, from which pure and soft resin flows, framing the scent wonderfully.

Drakon embodies for me one of the most beautiful and intense forest scents ever. For a long time, I have been captivated by the dragon through samples and decants. I could never completely escape his magic, which is why he now has a permanent place in my collection.

The intensity and especially the longevity are outstanding. Drakon is not an everyday scent; its complexity makes it too special for that. But at the right time in the right place, it is an absolute dream. Those who can be excited about such things will experience a true specialty with Drakon and will surely let themselves be carried away by the dragon through the forest here and there…

"It takes courage to fight the dragon" (Oliver Stone)

Unvarnished Monster
At first glance of the fragrance pyramids, Felino actually piqued my interest, while Drakon didn’t even make it onto the "Must Test" list.
To get straight to the point: Drakon is by far the strongest candidate in Carner's "Bestial Collection" for me - and was the only instant buy candidate (thank goodness...?!).

Drakon starts dark, mystical, and surprisingly serious.
I have no idea why I expected something different, more opulent, or at worst, "more romantic." In any case, I’m glad that the theme wasn’t executed as I anticipated!
This brings me directly to my headline:
Drakon is a rather unembellished, powerful, yet not restless or intrusive scent (although the fragrance experience may not enchant everyone, as Drakon is indeed too unconventional, perhaps even too dark).
It is shaped, interwoven, and enveloped by ethereal, deepest, darkest green and biting smoke. I perceive it as peppery and/or spicy only to a limited extent, as the dark green color and the smoky breath of the dragon are simply too dominant.

Pine branches burn and char, sweating in the heat of the fire. The scent wafts over the steaming forest floor.
The dragon in the sky almost completely darkens the night.

In all this scenario of raw violence from smoke and fire, Drakon actually manages to be invigorating and even fresh (in the least fresh sense).
This brings me back to the word ethereal, which quite well captures what I mean.

Leather also comes into play. Not a soft or even cuddly one. It’s creaky. And completely smoky.
Over everything lies the pine or the pine resin flows.

Even though individual nuances occasionally evoke fleeting memories of other fragrances, for me, for example, shortly after the opening of Buveur de Vent and partly also in the later leather nuance of Ombré Leather 16, Drakon remains unique in its composition.

Unembellished, raw, powerful, invigorating.
And as far as "woodsy" scents are concerned, it plays in the master class.

Above the Rooftops of Barcelona
Today, no long story. What happens when Gualtieri collaborates with Carner and throws over 200 ingredients into one pot is already poetry without a grand narrative. It is noble and has punch. And COUNTLESS facets. It’s not one that can be described with "top note cypress, heart orange blossom, and base sandalwood." Anyone who hasn’t smelled it simply has no idea. In my opinion, it is by far the most noble creation from this fragrance house. I have also received the most compliments for it so far, especially from close friends who couldn't stop smelling it, just like me.

It’s not sweet at all and not synthetic in the least, noble, cool, and far from mainstream, but not because it’s peculiar, rather simply because it has rare ingredients, but fortunately not those that would make it a classic oriental omnipresence.

My favorite scent since launch. Period. And that means something.

Best regards

Betel + cypress aromatic vibes on a birchy leather base. Akicaca used responsibly. Falcon reminiscence, but (dare I say It) better?

Drakon starts with a strong peppery, woody and green scent. In the drydown, you get a dry, earthy, dark oud, smoke and leather.

Blast of cypriol oil followed by aromatic-leather tones, fades more to a woody-leather by minute 5 with mild smokiness. Masc, fall-winter.

Grisu is now all grown up.
He adds a smoky twist to the cypress trees of Tibidabo.
Like a true Señor, he strolls elegantly along the Paseo de Gracia.*

Drakon has scented himself with Noir Anthracite and is puffing out funny little smoke clouds in the pine forest - he’s such a sweet dragon!

Somehow it just doesn't click for me. The spicy notes and leather dominate, while the florals get lost. Not my thing.

Lots of forest, lots of smoke, and even more wood. Oh, how it smolders and crackles! No sign of the Lindwurm. Better that way! Darkly beautiful. Top marks!
