Those the Only Notes?
I find it difficult to believe that those are the only notes in this. But then, what is °orchid° anyway? I have read that if real orchid were in a 'fume it would cost, like, a £squillion per bottle! & that orchid is a °fantasy note°, as they call it in perfumery. I was drawn to this by something odd & compelling in the aroma of this - something leaning, but ever-so gently leaning, a litlet skanky. Maybe it was just the °orchid° note, whatever that actually is.

Just gotten it out of the box & had a little go on it. Think I'll appoint this unto my next wearing. I remember now why I got it - I ^would^ say it is a bit of an outlier, in terms of sheer content. Seems to me to inhabit the centre of a wide space well away fræ other 'fumes. In fact it'd puzzling me greatly that there aren't more 'fumes that smell somewhat like this, as I do think the idiom of this is a mighty viable one. Don't know that 'skanky' is the right word, even with the 'gently leaning' qualification; but whatever is in it that gives it that distinction is at least a little °naughty° or a little °rude°.

And as for the ubiquitous muskiness that I'm never done going-on about (but it ^really is^ that important to me!) ... well ... I am thoroughly excruciated at this very moment!

Brings to mind Ærin's ~Lilac Path~, as that also is an outlier content-wise. Obviously I don't mean it's actually ^like^ it, forthat that would be an utter contradiction of what I've just said.

I'm having trouble being through with coming back to this: there seems to me something perhaps even a tad sinister in the almost juvenile innocence of it - perhaps a little like the sinistry of the sweet voice wherewithal, according to myths & legends & various stories of the supernatural, a conjured diabolickal spirit is wont to speak upon appearance at the sorcer's bidding. Or perhaps, is it that it is exciting a forebodeful thread of déja-vu in my mind, that always just fails to anchor itself, and of the anchoring of which I am a little afraid for some reason?

You know, I think I'm going to seriously enjoy this 'fume when I get round to wearing it; and that is likely to be soon, I do deem! Never thought I would be impatient for Kurkdjians ~Petit Matin~ to wear-off!

Yet another thing I'm beginning to wonder now: ^is^ it, perhaps, ^a little^ like ~Lilac Path~ in °a certain way°?

I also wonder why the shelf-life symbol on this says only 18 month, rather than the usual (and indeed even default) 36.

... the following morning ...
The Kurkdjian's wearing-off at last! Actually, I ^seriously^ enjoyed wearing it - it's a mickle-mighty good 'fume, that ~Petit Matin~. We 'fume heads of course, whatever we might say about layering, practise a °quasilayering° in that there is inevitably an overlap between consecutively worn 'fumes (kindlily refrain fræ admonishments as to showering insufficiently frequently or thoroughly!). I think the initial flourish of this one is conforming well with the parting gasps of that.

It could be mistaken superficially for a cloyingly sweet fruity, particularly rasberryish 'fume. If you're getting that, & especially if you're thinking with "not another sweet fuity ... ", then I would urge you to take stock & think again!

No, this is strange, strange. That °naughti- rude-ness°, perhaps bordering on the most discrete kind of skankiness, that I mention above, is flourishing amply. It's even, perhaps, beginning to take-on a certain ... °oiliness°, perhaps.

I'm looking forward avidly to the full deveiopment of this: reckon it's going to be seriously good.

... couple of hours later ...
It's settling down & maturing ^very^ nicely. Would say there is a ... perhaps °woodi- ambri-ness° coming through - but, I cannot fully confidently call it that as it just is never through with its being so ^mysterious^!

... a few hours later ...
Can't fault this, performance-wise. It's quite a powerhouse, in fact! Would say it's quite linear: such apparent changes in it are just a case of my °learning° it with time, I think: sometimes there's a flash of green, sometimes of amber; you know, the usual kind of thing: but on the whole it stays prett-much basically the same; which is fine by me! I'm not atall weary of it. Bring it on yet more!

Raspberry white chocolate kisses
I find it hard to believe the only two notes in this are lily and orchid. Almost all other sources say that there is a white chocolate note, which I think is actually the case here.

Going on wet it smells fresh and fruity, with the sort of tart sweetness that comes from a ruby chocolate. It's almost soapy too, sort of like shampoo. It's very sour and sharp, and even two little sprays is enough to give me a huge headache. As it dries it becomes a little more bearable, more soft and musky. It sort of smells like someone eating raspberry white chocolate while powdering their nose. But despite the sort of food-y quality it's still not a gourmand

This perfume is LOUD. It's actually quite similar to Angel Nova, probably because of the prominent raspberry note. But where Angel Nova stays tart and fruity Baiser Fou mellows into a sweeter more powdery scent. Both are fun and flirty.

It has crazy longevity, the sillage isn't as great but it's still pretty impressive. I tried and tried to scrub this off after 6 hours but it still wouldn't leave my skin! Even now, two days later, I can almost smell it on my comforter after going to bed having unsuccessfully removed it. It smells nice, but it's just too strong for me.

Powdery Orchid Meets Fruity Watermelon
As I am a huge fan of the entire Cartier Baiser line, the latest kiss had to join my collection, and I eagerly awaited the Baiser Fou.
Completely unexpectedly, I discovered it in February at the airport duty-free shop, even though it was actually supposed to be on the shelves starting in March. I later learned that there was an earlier launch for duty-free shops. When I saw it sitting there, I was, of course, very curious about its scent, so I tested it right away and immediately bought it.

The Bottle:
The bottle remains very similar to the others in the Baiser line - the only difference is that the Baiser Fou (Crazy Kiss) does not have a cap. The spray nozzle comes in a deep red - like a ruby.
The idea behind the fragrance - it is meant to smell like a lipstick kiss.

About the Scent:
The opening is very zesty, floral, and fruity.
From the very beginning, the orchid is very present, accompanied by strawberries and lychees, with a slightly earthy note noticeable.
Then, a very fine watermelon scent emerges - I would say it smells like luxurious watermelon lip gloss.
A light bubblegum accord joins the melon without becoming cheesy. Generally, the mood at the start is rather cheeky and bold, later becoming cool and elegant, without losing its zestiness.
The heart is nestled on yellow and pink orchids dusted with powder - the watermelon is still present, along with exotic fruits, and the strawberries are still detectable.
In the base, a vanilla note increasingly reveals itself, accompanied by white chocolate and caught in a velvety bed of creamy-scented orchid blossoms. What remains is a fresh, floral, and simultaneously sweet scent that clings delicately to the skin.

An exciting, mysterious fragrance that inspires dreaming and is not for sweet flower girls!!!

Kiss with a Bite
Today I was once again overwhelmed by the cheekiness of my girlfriend's misjudgment - and I vehemently pressed the red button on the phone, as unfortunately, there is no longer a fork to bang the receiver on.

Bah - what nasty people there are.
But there are good fragrances.

The husband slipped on his jacket without a word and we set off to the fragrance paradise.

And there awaited me - almost fatefully - a large bottle of Mon Guerlain - fairly discounted.
I grabbed it without hesitation.

But next to it, the crazy Kiss was laughing at me.

I had just experienced something wild - so a kiss couldn't hurt.
Although I wasn't exactly in the mood for kissing, as the rebellious mood still lingered within me.
I wasn't in the mood to be good.
That phone fiend would get to know me!
And this cheeky, somewhat defiant mood is fueled by the sweet-sour scent.
Lily is enchanting and the orchid is elegant - but both do not shine with restraint.
Good! One doesn't always have to maintain composure - and my abrupt conversation interruption was appropriate and fitting.
The fragrance nods at me.
A cheeky rhubarb - starfruit note shows subtle claws and whispers - Watch out!
It's not always easy to get along with the wearer!
There can also be a scratch or a bite on the lower lip.

In any case, the crazy Kiss came in very handy for me, as it carries a certain wildness and is delightfully unconventional.

The next outrageous phone call can come.

How do you kiss, Chéri?
Since my statement, I have had multiple opportunities to test Cartier's "Baiser Fou": on skin and on the strip. The last scent strip is still next to me.
It has really been worth trying it more than once.

I am always surprised that such artificially appearing flowers like orchids even have a scent. Even more so, I am astonished that this one is quite rich and floral. So it is here.
Although I still don't know if it really smells like ripe watermelons or rather cucumber; in any case, the freshness that enlivens the somewhat powdery, deep orchid scent makes that knowledge secondary.
I also smell summery fruits; however, I can't pinpoint them exactly. (Never should you ask me!)
But I believe: they are of the kind that I would also love to eat. And that makes them good!
Probably "Baiser Fou" thus gets its subtly fruity sweetness.

So it is a fragrance that carries the temptations of summer within it: fresh and floral with a powdery touch that clings relatively long and thus indulges.
All these fine delicacies are contained in a puristic flacon that fits very well in the hand: it invites you to touch it!

I like this scent, but I am still not entirely sure if I am the type of woman that was thought of when creating "Baiser Fou."
But that doesn't matter at all: I still feel a great sympathy for this "crazy kiss."

Conclusion: After all, you can't take every good kisser home!

Powdery, makeuppy orchid, drier than most orchid scents - a treatment more usually given to violets or roses. Fun but potent. Spray lightly!

Only a couple of flowers for an intoxicating and almost"fruity" acchord very vibrant and feminin. Average sillage. Good for the warm season.

Passionate orchid scent.
Unreasonable. Cheeky. But very attractive.
Light melon note, stretched with sweetness.
Addictive!

I find it carefree but not generic. A fruit-flower combo with a slightly feisty, sour-green kick. There's something about it.

Unexpectedly zesty, refreshing but not light, with a distinctive character! Fruity but not too sweet, I really like it!

Fully bloomed lily (not as fussy as usual) including green stem, kissed by berry fruit. Pretty, but the kiss doesn't drive you crazy.

Orchids, you say? Did a clever botanist cross this beautiful plant with a raspberry bush? No matter, the powdery flower girls are happy!

Like a lychee spritzer with a hint of rhubarb.
Sweet-sour and fizzy.
Different and refreshing!
I like it!
