Too harsh to be an Aquatic

Declaration L'Eau only has 3 notes contained therein and the Pink Grapefruit note is extremely prevalent from start to finish and in my estimation it's extremely harsh. I was hoping that after a few minutes the Pink Grapefruit note would die down but to no avail. Cartier usually comes up with some stellar smelling fragrances but I think that on this on they definitely dropped the ball. I previously owned Declaration Parfum from 2018 but after a few wearings I decided to unload it to someone who would like it. It looks like I just might do the same thing with this one. I only worn this fragrance a couple of times and now I understand why. It just isn't for me.

disappoints. reaches dizzy.

At first I thought it was good. But then I started to feel dizzy. It's weird because I'm a perfumer admired. I think we should focus on creating change in other perfumes.

Roadster was a great creation. Declaration eau is not worth it.

Cooling and energetic: a good flanker

A flanker, yes, but a good one. First of all, the latest interpretation of "Déclaration" is perfectly unisex. It offers fresh top-notes of grapefruit, mint and lemon, all of which are fantastic in summer. After the gorgeous, ice-cold start, the spicy-woody signature of the familiar original Déclaration-fragrance takes over and you can clearly decipher some cedar accords faintly echoing "Terre d'Hermes" (both scents were composed by the great J.C. Elléna). Mathilde Laurent copied the structure of the original "Déclaration" and added those blazing top-notes thus offering a new and uncomplicated alternative to everybody who is looking for a summer-scent with a difference, i.e. not done in the boring "sports style" and not dominantly acquatic. "Déclaration l'Eau" is full of sparkling energy and one of those rare flankers which really fill a gap and don't seem like ridiculous add-ons.
