Very helpful Review

A rose is a rose is a rose.
I just noticed that my last review here was over three months ago. This winter has certainly been a rather dreary affair, both in terms of light and scent.
So my heart leapt with enthusiasm today when I discovered "Goutte de Rose" at Düssi-Schnitzler. Immediately I thought, this is going to be great on the skin! And, believe it or not, this is already the third outstanding "Eau de Cartier" flanker in a row (after "Orange" and "Bois") that has completely convinced me without any reservations.
Upon spraying, a rich rose scent immediately dominates (complemented by a hint of iris), whose high quality, clarity, and purity I find truly impressive. (Anyone who loves "Paris" by YSL or "Nahéma" by Guerlain should definitely give this a sniff!) Over time, a warm, woody base note of subtle elegance emerges, reminiscent of "Essence de Bois." Oud in duet with vetiver, which is something special!
What I find truly outstanding is the velvety transition. The base note "carries" the floral aspect, giving it fullness without being overly heavy. The fragrance is of a similar high quality to Dior's Collection Privée, and not even at half the price!
Conclusion: I probably won't stick to my resolution of not buying any perfumes this year. And after the unfortunate decline of the Splash fragrances from Marc Jacobs, I am infinitely grateful to Cartier for filling the unisex gap at such a high level with the "Eau de Cartier" line. These puristic scents have very high-quality ingredients and still come at a fair price point that even the average earning fragrance enthusiast can afford.
