Fragile Innocence
The Cartiers from the exclusive lines are pure relaxation for me. A break from all the aggressive, artificially sounding aroma chemicals trimmed for performance, the intrusive, overbearing loud scents of today. They are incredibly delicate and smell calmly good. They provide an absolutely satisfying wearing experience away from all effects. A true blessing.

This one is one of the most beautiful iris scents I know. Dry, slightly powdery, delicately rooty, somewhat soapy-waxy, violet-floral, subtly green, minimally carroty, accompanied by gentle wood and cleanly appearing white musk, without being pore-deep clean. Initially lovely like baby powder, then a high-quality, slightly soapy-spicy body lotion in a dry texture. The latter effect can be found, for example, in Hermès 'Hiris' somewhat more pronounced. The composition of both is very similar. In its monothematic nature, it is also in good company with classic iris soliflores like Prada's 'Iris Cedre' or Trudon's 'Bruma'. The fact that this does not become monotonous over time is due to the sensitive construction and the excellent ingredients, which are nuanced and flexible enough. I wear it with great joy, which means something for someone who finds pure iris scents quickly exhausting or boring.

Longevity and Sillage:
Understatement in perfection.

Conclusion:
A simple, well-composed, calmly elegant iris scent that perfectly strikes the fine line between soapy cleanliness and closeness to nature. A fragrance for all occasions.

Hour of Promise
L’Heure Promise is a fragrance from the exclusive Cartier line "Les heures." And who understands treasures - like time is - better than a company like Cartier? Each of the fragrances is supposed to have its own character and reflect the different moods of the individual hours of a day.
The fragrance designated with the number I represents dawn, the first hour of the day, the hour of expectation. The time when the day is unspoiled, fresh, and full of promise. Thus, L’heure Promise also starts with a fresh note, which here appears very delicate and finely structured. One should not imagine a fresh-fruity Petitgrain note that lifts you up with cheerful pop sounds. Rather, it is like birdsong or better yet, harp tones that are occasionally carried to the ear by a breeze. Petitgrain makes its presence felt here only in its finest and most delicate form with a slightly herbaceous touch. For me, the fragrance truly feels like the first gentle breath of a new day, carried to my nose by a soft breeze, tender and fine yet very perceptible. However, this lasts (at least for me) only a very short moment before the iris joins in. This iris, however, is quite different from many other iris fragrances. Here, I notice no powder, it is hardly sweet, but very warm and soft. This is further emphasized in the base by the sandalwood. I also perceive a tone of white musk, which feels like freshly washed laundry. The base note envelops the wearer like a warm, soft veil. The fragrance is rather close to the body, without great sillage. It is a perfume that one wears more for oneself or only for the very few people who are allowed to come close. Overall, L'Heure Promise does not undergo a significant development. Quite soon, the fragrance presents itself in its entirety. Only the base with the sandalwood-musk gradually comes more to the forefront.
Interestingly, I cannot smell L’Heure Promise continuously in the heart note. The fragrance - specifically, I mean the iris here - retreats from time to time, only to reappear a few minutes later, as if from nowhere. Somehow, I find this very fitting with the rest of the perfume. However, scent samples on clothing are significantly more perceptible, even without these "gaps".
For Mathilde Laurent's creation, adjectives that come to mind are delicate, fine, noble, clean, and elegant. I imagine the ideal wearer to be feminine, delicate, fairy-like, and still very young, an ethereal being that is, in the best sense of the word, naive and unspoiled. Older ladies should possess a certain natural nobility that further underscores L’Heure Promise.
But unfortunately, this creation by Mathilde Laurent is not at all for me. Somehow, I was never one of those types of women, neither as a young girl nor today as a mature woman, and therefore could never wear this fragrance convincingly. It would feel quite out of place on me.
I acquired a manufacturer sample, which is very elaborately packaged in a slender red box with golden lettering. With 4ml, it is also quite a generous sample. Everything else would not be Cartier at all. The company owes that to itself (and us)!
I only know the bottle from pictures, and I find it - fitting to the fragrance - noble and elegant.
By the way: the price is, in accordance with the image of the series and the company, quite proud!

Musk and cirtic, slightly bitter notes in fine iris haze. Its the hazy first hour of the day...

Shy iris promises the first kiss at sunrise.
Unfortunately, she has to stick to her routine with lotion afterward. *

Elfin-like shy. Iris powders her nose pale and would rather not be here at all. In her mind a fairy creature, in her heart a wallflower.

A very modest little flower, still green behind the leaves. You want to grab it and shake it, hoping it will come into its own.

Herb-green, dry iris leaning on light sandalwood, more fresh than powdery. For gentle, fairy-like beings. It has style, elegance, and nobility.

Dry woody scent, with the dusty-powdery iris in the top note emphasizing it. I miss substance and depth.

softest veil of iris with delicate green hints on a bed of the finest light sandalwood. Subtly erotic, close to the skin, wonderful

Green and powdery, the iris comes through ... the scent is dry. Over time, it reveals wood powder. Sandalwood cuddles into the soft musk bed. Beautiful!

Bitter greenish powdery sandalwood scent. Subtle and relatively classic, in my opinion.
