The sparkle of tangerine and the depth of cassis. A modern harmony that beautifully highlights the rose.
While inheriting the bright and limpid rose DNA of the original, this fragrance expresses a freer, more assertive femininity than ever before.

This fragrance is characterized by a juicy, fresh accord of tangerine and cassis. It exudes a bright, sun-kissed energy from the top notes, yet is never overly flashy, creating an overall impression of a calm, gentle, modern woman.

It has a subtler fruity sweetness than the original, with the cassis playing a crucial role here. The deep acidity unique to cassis acts as a "shadow" that subtly yet vividly highlights the rose, creating a beautiful three-dimensional fragrance. Cedarwood in the base adds urban sophistication, creating a pleasant balance of freshness and elegance, making this a floral-fruity fragrance for adults.

Actually, I usually avoid ...
...Chloè fragrances like the plague...a huuuuge plague. I don’t like them. Period. It’s like with Chanel. I don’t like them. Period.
Buuut...in my last fragrance mail, there was a sample of this scent included. It was hot that day, the day was stressful, I was slightly irritable (but just slightly), and I still had a few things to do on the computer.
Unfocused and disinterested (and irritable) as I was, my gaze fell on the tester..."oh, what the heck" I thought to myself and sprayed it on my forearm. Ooooyyy...this mandarin...instantly, my spirits were lifted. So beautifully fruity, yet light like a white curtain in the wind, paired with a delicate rose, on whose petals the morning dew is still visible...wonderful. Later on, a cozy amber joins in, and that’s about it.
This scent isn’t exciting, it doesn’t have a spectacular scent progression, but it is well made. It invigorates, refreshes, lifts the mood (probably due to the mandarin), and is a summer fragrance for daytime. It’s not a room-filler and doesn’t last long (at least not on me)...unfortunately...but it brings a smile to your face...

Elegant Freshness
The husband bought a flat screen TV - the size of Holland.

Two strong young men carried the thing into the house - and hurried away.
So the husband set about setting up the high-tech device.

His initial excitement diminished considerably, and he offered me to read the instruction manual - I was the reader in this household.
I clarified to him that this had nothing to do with literary reading - and also hurriedly left the house.

Destination: Karstadt - perfume department.
And a new offshoot of Chloe caught my eye.

I have always cherished and valued the Chloes - and there was even a tester available.

I was curious about the ingredient tangerine - but could only perceive mandarin, which appears fresh and not sour - keeping the scent transparent.
The rose also seems white to me - lightly citrus-tinged.
I see the elegant rose "A Whiter Shade of Pale" before me, brightening and adorning my garden.
The blackcurrant is subtly tart - and also leans towards freshness.
Light and bright, cedar mixes in - gently sweetened by amber.

A bright positive scent with casual elegance that also fits into autumn.

Cheered up, I drive home again - where the husband is still brooding over the instruction manual.

His gloomy mood, however, bounces off the cheerfully tuned scent - which I carry into the house carefree but distinctly.

Tangerine lands on the wish list - Christmas is coming soon.

A Fruity-Floral All-Rounder
Even at the first spray, the typical Chloé signature is recognizable in Chloé Tangerine, the light rose scent that gives all Chloés its character.

ROSE TANGERINE, however, is more self-assured, modern, and feminine than its predecessors, particularly with the addition of a fruity and lively mandarin that gives the fragrance its name.
Yet, it loses none of the typically romantic, playful elegance of the Chloé house.

Delicate rose is the first thing that the nose perceives. I enjoy rose scents, but they shouldn’t be too "intense," as is the case with MFK L'Eau de la Rose.
The rose in Chloé's fragrances is, in my opinion, perfectly dosed, as it is light, feminine, and sensual, always giving its wearer a touch of cool romance.

Surprisingly sweet and quite suddenly-after about 10 minutes-the fragrance turns fruity. Zesty mandarin and blackcurrant join the rose.
For those who found previous Chloés too rose-heavy, this could offer a more fruity-floral alternative. In my eyes, Rose Tangerine provides a very good entry point for Chloé fragrance beginners.

Rose Tangerine is not a scent that overwhelms. For people who prefer very prominent fragrances, Chloé Rose Tangerine is definitely not for them. Like all fragrances in the line, this one is also very close to the body and subtle.

What is exciting about the fragrance, in my opinion, is that it changes again about two hours after application. When warm woody notes of cedar and amber come into play, Rose Tangerine gains some character and more presence.

Even though Rose Tangerine reminds me a bit of the EDT from 2009, the fragrance has a completely independent temperament, with more sweetness than its predecessor, which was more powdery-something Rose Tangerine does not offer at all.

The fragrance is suitable for any occasion, for everyday wear, festivities, or the office. Since there are so many different scents, every woman of any age can find her matching Chloé fragrance without having to forgo the typical Chloé signature.

Like all the fragrances I own from Chloé, Rose Tangerine is also perceived as pleasant and seductive by those around me. The typical Chloé note also reveals to my surroundings-without saying a word-that I am wearing Chloé.
I personally appreciate this about Chloé fragrances very much.

Sillage and projection are rather moderate.
The texture is soft and delicate.

The bottle is handy and elegant, and with the bow, it is a real eye-catcher.

Dill Pickle Water
For those wondering why there was no 10th door yesterday, the comment on Miller Harris - Lumière Dorée was already written; I just added the video. Now, onto today’s 11th perfume Advent calendar door:

A long time ago, I wrote a blog titled “The Confusions of the Nose.” In it, I described what my nose occasionally actually smells in relation to the listed fragrance notes. This list emerged:

Roses combined with citrus fruits: Dill pickle water
Cedarwood: optionally pencil shavings or ham
Saffron: paprika
Fig: cat or coconut
Blackcurrant: definitely and almost always cat
Lily of the valley in oriental combinations: soapy, piercing lab chemicals
Chocolate: wet dog
Aquatic notes: fish
Fresh notes: banana
Patchouli: valerian
Vanilla: mushroom

I should experience one of these nose confusions during my first testing of Chloé Rose Tangerine, but first, a few facts about the fragrance:
Chloé Rose Tangerine was released this year as a women’s fragrance. Created by Sidonie Lancaster and Michel Almairac, who was also responsible for the creation of the popular Chloé Eau de Parfum and co-developed my beloved Chloé Eau de Toilette.

I sprayed both just before the first test of Rose Tangerine and must say that I really enjoy smelling the Eau de Parfum on others; however, the rose sometimes seems too woody and distant to me, and it quickly becomes soapy on my skin. The Eau de Toilette starts icy-fresh for me, with a cooler but less woody rose, and gains an aromatic cedarwood note as it develops.

So, boldly and with prior knowledge, I approached the test: Ah mandarin, squashed mandarin…… green mandarin ……. and wood………wood? Green wood???.........Dill, I can hardly dare to smell further because Tada, you guessed it, there it is again: DILL PICKLE WATER! …………….hidden way back and very small is a woody rose à la Chloé. But my nose simply cannot get past that wicked herb. I managed to hold out for a few hours during the first test, but then washed it all off and couldn’t perceive anything else in the drydown, so I am now bravely repeating the test a second time.

Here are my second impressions:
Juicy mandarin, slightly artificial, something aromatic in the background (dill? I can hardly dare to say it, because if I don’t say it, maybe I’ll smell something else this time). The roses are strongly faded, similar to Roses de Chloé. The mandarins also dry up quickly. The dill remains in the background today, but I am sure they simply used dill instead of baby’s breath when binding the rose bouquet….a slight soapy note comes through in the drydown and subtly reminds me of the Eau de Parfum.

One thing is clear, my fragrance will not be this one. Even though the dill pickle water is tamer today than during the first test, I cannot completely avoid smelling the herb. So be it, one less fragrance I need to add to my collection, even though I find the idea of mandarins and roses very beautiful.

Here beats the heart of the first Chloé rose, but a juicy mandarin is the welcoming committee before the powdery rose bloom unfolds.

Take Chloé EdT 2009 + Chloé EdT 2015 in a 1:2 ratio and mix it well.
