Wanderlust and Horse riding
I often struggle with Jasmine forward fragrances as they can sometimes turn dirty on me or be too heady, but I have been on a hunt to test different ones and find one that works for me.
Nomade Jasmin Naturel Intense works for me probably better than most other jasmine forward fragrances I have tried and that's partly because I feel like despite Jasmine being in the name, it's not 100% a jasmine perfume. Firstly kudos to Chloe for releasing a designer fragrance that to my nose feels unique. Chloe moreover seems to have been able to perfectly capture the wanderlust and feeling of a nomadic heart within a bottle.
This really triggered the recognition of something familiar in me that was almost startling the first time I smelled it. The first time I smelled it in store, I thought, "This reminds me of something I used to smell all the time but haven't smelled in years. What is it?"
The more I have worn it, I realized that it smells like Colorado horse pastures. Not in a gross way and there isn't anything animalic to be found here. But this is a fragrance that conjures imagery for me nonetheless. It's a warm fall afternoon, the sun is shining down, the Rocky mountains are off in the distance. I am eating date bread in wide open brush pastures, a slight waft of fresh hay and horses grazing nearby is in the breeze -- but in the most pleasing way. Life is peaceful and there's a feeling of freedom in the knowledge that you can go anywhere. IYKYK.
I was a horsegirl in my teen years and there is something in this perfume that I just find transportive back to that time. (I'm being dramatic I am aware, but this fragrance is proving to speak to me more than I expected.) Make no mistake though, this isn't a childish perfume, it's a grown up scent that also isn't too mature. I see this on women 20-40s age range, but really anyone could wear it. Jasmin Naturel is also not a heavy, cloying, indolic perfume in my experience. It's really quite beautiful actually and I struggle to describe it note by note and if it wasn't clear can only really explain it emotionally.
I don't see Sage listed as a note, but I feel like I detect a bit of it here or perhaps it is the patchouli coming through. This isn't a dirty patchouli by any means, but it is earthy.I also know the original Nomade had oakmoss but I don't see that here. Still maybe that is an unlisted note that still helps give that earthy vibe. The dates, vanilla and sandalwood add a sweet, soft and creamy undertone. The Jasmine provides some brightness and freshness, but it's really just a well blended scent.
Wonderful fall scent that's highly versatile. It can be casual, formal, office appropriate, day to night. We stan a versatile fragrance and I very much could see this being someone's signature scent.
After trying in store for a day I bought a 30 ml bottle for testing and when I've used it up I think this may be full bottle worthy. Chloe really knocked this one out of the park.
