Hello dear fragrance enthusiasts and welcome to my new scent report. Today, it's about Nomade Absolu de Parfum by Chloe. So far, I only know the Eau de Parfum from the Nomade line, and it's been three years since I had it under my nose, so I actually don't remember how it was, just that I found it (based on my comment) above average good :)
Well, let's get to the scent here. Nomade, well I never know how certain fragrance names come about, because nomads are people who move from place to place, usually in certain patterns (seasonally dependent) mainly for economic reasons.
Here, the fragrance is supposed to symbolize the freedom of a woman who is free, modern, and independent, and who continually moves or wanders into new areas. Well, it's a bit of a simplified description of true nomadism, but for olfactory purposes, it suffices, especially to stimulate the imagination and dream about what it would be like to actually wander through the desert like a nomad.
Of course, everything is romanticized, because things like, for example, screaming in fear of scorpions are not mentioned, along with the scorching heat, blisters on the feet because one is not used to walking so much (yeah… try finding a drugstore in the middle of the desert to buy band-aids, he he) or such things :D
But well, as I said, one can dream or fantasize, and let's see if the scent has an exotic touch. Oh, and… did you know that scorpions are classified as spiders? Mu ha ha, now they probably seem even creepier to you than they already did :D
The Scent:
The beginning smells quite classic, like perfumes with bergamot or lemon, oak moss, and has a slightly aftershave-like scent. Then it becomes more floral and feminine, the fragrance is also fresh, fruity, and slightly citrusy. Whether I can best detect davana or mirabelle, I simply cannot say, because I have to google what these plants even look like, as I am too forgetful to remember plant names (everything that is a shrub is just bush to me, various flowers are simply just flowers, everything round and orange is just an orange (okay, not really :D) and I refer to every type of tree as a tree, although firs and pines are often called Christmas trees by me :DD).
Later, the scent remains sweetly floral and slightly fruity, and is also somewhat herbaceous. I find the woody scents and the musk here nice, even if they come across as slightly watery. The floral scents begin to smell a bit like those flowers in Mediterranean areas that have stood too long under the scorching sun.
This impression intensifies towards the end, but the musk also becomes stronger, so the scent radiates a nice, "dark" sweetness, along with a wonderful, soft woody note.
In the end, the musk becomes a bit stronger, just like the impression of sun-roasted flowers. Oak moss can still be smelled, as it is actually detectable throughout. Much later, only a gentle sweetness is perceptible. All in all, a nice fragrance.
The Sillage and Longevity:
The sillage is moderate, but remains consistent for several hours. The longevity is quite good, the scent lasts easily from morning to evening.
The Bottle:
The bottle is somewhat shield-shaped with a rather thick base. At the upper part, there is a recess into which the metal neck of the bottle has been inserted, on the front of which the name of the fragrance is engraved. The cylindrical cap is wrapped with a narrow leather band with studs. As a nice detail, there is also a leather strap hanging from the neck of the bottle. A beautiful bottle.
Conclusion:
Hmm… since I can't remember the regular Nomade EDP, I can't really say whether this scent resembles the EDP or smells completely different. In any case, the Absolu here smells quite nice, especially for those who want to smell both sweet and herbaceous and woody notes in a perfume, especially in the middle part, as the base is rather sweeter.
I find that the fragrance is suitable for everyday use, so both for going out and for daily spraying, and in any season, as it is neither heavy nor too light. Okay, maybe there are nicer fragrances for going out, but it wouldn't really be wrong to use this one as well. And at work, I might apply it in a lower dose and not necessarily bathe in it. The scent is therefore quite worth testing for me.
The name Nomade might even be somewhat fitting for the fragrance here, at least if one should think of something exotic with the nomadic existence, as the beginning of the scent also came across as Mediterranean to me. Well, and that's all I could write about the scent, now it's up to everyone whether they want to test the fragrance or not. Chloe as a brand is often quite nice and always worth a look or a sniff.
So then, have a nice evening and see you next time :)
