Loubiprince without the amber
I think the Fétiche line is an attempt to encourage layering, i.e. buying more than one at a time. Already salespeople usually are trained to suggest this even with lines that aren't necessarily meant for layering but to try to convince the customer to buy more than one.

But when this is the case by design, the fragrances tend to be a bit more simplified. In my opinion the "completed," or pre-layered version of Le Santal exists: Loubiprince, where the sandalwood is combined with a beautiful amber note. It seems like they just took the sandalwood accord from that and packaged it on its own. It's not bad but it feels like it's missing something. I think it does have a bit more fruitiness, though I perceive it as almost coconutty, which I also perceive in Loubiprince. Projection is weak though it lasts on skin.

Le Santal – Fig Gone Fancy
A ripe fig with creamy, milky tones resting on warm sandalwood. Instant spark. Le Santal is warm, smooth and a little sultry, with fig and sandalwood holding hands in perfect harmony. It gives me that “I want to eat you” vibe, but it cleverly refuses to fall into full-on gourmand territory. Too classy for that.

Where White on White flirts with the gourmand side, Le Santal keeps things balanced and refined. Fig is a note with many faces, and here the creamy, milky one takes the lead, boosted beautifully by sandalwood. Chef’s kiss.

It wears effortlessly on both men and women. The bottle though… that cap is giving me medieval weapon vibes. Thankfully, Louboutin throws in a plain travel cap so you can enjoy the juice without risking injury. But the juice really is gorgeous.

Aha! - It works after all...
There it is... wait, I'll start from the beginning:

The Fétiche Collection definitely looks interesting, especially because of this special bottle. The fragrance notes are kept very minimalistic, so there were few clues about what this scent could be... fig milk and sandalwood... yes, that could mean anything... but what is she now, Madame le Santal?

Freshly sprayed, I describe my thoughts as always, I had quite a green note with a certain creaminess behind it. Immediately I thought, oh oh, this is a bit close to White on White, a little harsher... but no, that disappears quickly
mh... what is that... uh, that sandalwood is a bit biting... oh what a shame... no wait...
This minimally screechy note is gone again, all within a maximum of 5 minutes.
Now it gets a bit quieter, one becomes a little scent... yes, not scent-blind... rather scent-numbed.
But then... uuuh the drydown!
A very cuddly, beautiful, milky fig with miiiiinimal green... and it becomes increasingly edible. Slowly I'm getting a craving for figs! Delicious!
What is that in the drydown that isn't listed? I smell a hint of vanilla and I also think there's a very gentle amber...

Yes, and there it is... the fig that I always wished for in Gris Charnel!

I think this fragrance is actually very well done. The performance is not as bad as one might initially think. The sillage is okay, of course not forever, and the longevity is actually quite good. On my clothes, I personally have a clean-summer feeling.
One downside, in my opinion, is the price, which I find not entirely justified.
Otherwise, for those who want to spend that, and were disappointed by Gris Charnel, like me:
This is the sensual, captivating, but gentle fig that I wanted!

Haven’t smelled it. But if I were a gnome, this would be the scent for me.

Pretty unique for a gourmand fragrance, if it can even be classified as such. Milky fig with a huge sandalwood backbone.

In the white sandalwood garden
you play the strings,
that Van Cleef once strung -
your milky sound
ignites my heart
like sweet angelic song

A brief green note like Philosykos, before the scent melts into a softly woody, creamy fig. Beautiful.

I found my fig scent. The most beautiful lightly sweet, yet woody, delicate green fig. Beautifully crafted. A poem!

I can understand the association with "White on White | Xerjoff," but here it's actually a green, wonderful drydown!

A subtly sweet, green fig and delicate woody note combine to create an indescribably beautiful creaminess. An outstanding fragrance.

Great scent, creamy green. Reminds me of Philosykos, but H/S is definitely better. Did I want one from the line because of the bottle? Unfortunately, yes.
