My sample & opinion has drastically changed
If you sampled this and hated it, let it sit a week or two and retest it! Perfumes need time to recover from shipping. I knew this but was impatient. My opinion has now drastically changed to loving it!

Fetiche La Rose is actually very well blended, but I do feel it’s a skin scent. Considering my sample has really improved over the last couple of weeks, maybe this just needs more time to show its true potential. What initially ruined this for me was the ridiculous amount of hype and influencers who claimed this was a black cherry scent. There is NO detectable black cherry note in this what so ever! This led me to rate it as 2/10, along with its initial strong similarity to Delina La Rosée… a scent along with all the other Delina’s I personally cannot stand to the point they actually agitate me!

Retesting Fetiche La Rose now, I still feel they made a mistake when printing the ingredients. I still get absolutely no cherry. I do get Hibiscus, Rose, Ginger & pepper. My partner’s first impression of FLR was “it’s really, really nice” and scored it 8/10 until he smelt Hibiscus Mahajád, which he said was so much nicer. In the opening of both, I’d definitely agree with this. HM is stunning. FLR smells more rosy here as though it’s a combination of HM mixed with Atomic Rose Eau de Parfum and Delina Eau de Parfum. The dry down of both is where the differences are more obvious. HM flits between hibiscus and leather. To me FLR still had a hibiscus/rose note, but with added ginger and smokiness. This is where I enjoy it most. It is definitely dark and sexy. A perfect date night scent. I now love this and it’s definitely 10/10 for me.

The lid in person is very good quality, but I hate the shape of it for storing. 10/10 for originality, though mine will be shoved away in a drawer. I bought my bottle directly from Christian Louboutin’s site just to ensure I got the travel cap.

Sex & Roses
I really don’t even know where to start with this scent. From the name, to the stiletto cap, to the red juice, all the way down to the scent, this is hands down one of the sexiest scents I’ve ever encountered. And coming from someone who hates cherry, this fragrance has easily become one of my favorite cherry scents.

Fétiche La Rose falls into a category of fragrances I like to call, “simple beasts”. Simple beasts always have just a few notes to them, but exhibit high complexity, quality, and performance. The black cherry + rose are reminiscent of the similar combo in Carmina, but without the strong amber and musk of the latter. The cherry in La Rose is a true, dark cherry. One that stains your fingers and lips after biting into it, leaving its blood-like nectar behind as evidence. Very bold, natural, and with a perfect balance of tartness and sweetness. The cherry leads in its dance with the rose, and the pink pepper leads in its dance with the ginger. Together, they add a warmth and sparkling fresh spiciness to a dark, but gleaming scent.

I am truly as infatuated as I expected to be, given my love for deep rose scents (shoutout to Fenty Eau de Parfum)! I think those that are rose-averse and rose-obsessed could easily be seduced by the sheer sexiness of this scent. By no means is this a safe blind buy and the bottle may put some off, but it is so c*nty and true to the Louboutin aesthetic. It absolutely deserves a try and all of the hype/love it’s currently receiving. I’m ecstatic to have her in my collection.
