A blatant animalism
Unfortunately, there was no real spark between me and the Lyonesse right away. For me, it's a blatant musk scent in a very extreme form. I just can't get to grips with this animalic quality. The longevity is very strong at around 12 hours and the sillage is also convincing.
In the top note, the musk comes straight in and creates an intense animalic note, which even drifts towards ammonia and therefore doesn't appeal to me. This is joined by a green, resinous aroma of cypress. Cedarwood intensifies this impression in the heart note. Nevertheless, the musk remains dominant and also carries the base through to the "bitter end". Woody accords always resonate here.
Unfortunately, the Lyonesse doesn't really appeal to me. Nevertheless, I would like to thank Nick for bottling it.
