It's Perfect for Cinco De Mayo

I couldn't really write a long review on this one, there is not much to say other than it reminds me of lightening striking, spent fire crackers and fajitas. But mostly this is all green bell pepper (Capsicums) and synthetic ivy and crushed green leaves with a touch of vetiver. It's just very weird, linear and unappealing on my skin. I wanted to love this so much...I want a cool CdG bottle in my collection and green is my favorite color, but this falls so flat-no dice. I think that I would only recommend this for professional day/office use for the folks that truly love fresh sliced biting pungent green bell peppers in a salad of bitter greens with a little trail of resinous smoke in the base and want people to whisper "Is someone roasting peppers?" as the go by the water cooler. Truthfully, this is the most uninspired Comme des Garçons I have come across so far and I am about a third through sampling the entire line. My biggest gripe with this one is "gunpowder accord" sounds so daring and I was so excited to get ahold of this sample to experience the danger! Where ever the gunpowder accord limped off to...I hope it comes back with a Medi-vac crew...this is a 'muy grave' (very serious) train wreck in a gorgeous green flask.

Green?

Green? With a lot of imagination but only in the beginning.
Tried a sample on my holidays and was bored to hell.

Sillage is weak and lasts only 3 hours on my skin.
It is synthetic and musky to me this weird creation.
A Mainstream product, not the Comme des Garçons I hoped for. No exciting edges nor amazing! The bottle is still nice tho.

If you want green and like the idea of lemony green roots, leaves and the feel of sun warmed earth under the fig trees I'd say try Ninfeo Mio by Goutal or the more feminin "Delicate" by Boadicea. Best green thing out there is Byredo 1996 at the moment.

Strange Performer

This is one of my favourite scents, its just the performance lets it down. In most cases when I first spray it on the smell is gone within minutes, only to pop up later.
I wore it to work and as usual the smell was gone pretty quickly, then a few hours later I got up to go to the printer and suddenly got a huge waft of it. This happened on a few occasions, even though I could barely smell it when I sniffed my clothes.
The most annoying thing for me though is the bottle, It looks great but doesn't stand up. Which is especially annoying because they actually have stands, but those are only available with testers and not for people paying full price for the product.

What green smells like

Amazingreen is pretty amazing. When I think of a green fragrance, Nio comes to mind (don't like) which is sharp or King Cobra (do like) which is complex and has other components. Amazingreen is just a very smooth green. The bottle color reflects it. If there were such a thing as a smello-dictionary and you looked up the word 'green' it would give you the smell of Amazingreen. I get absolutely no gunpowder, smoke or vetiver. Unisex fragrance.

Unfortunately, Amazingreen's performance is pretty mediocre. Longevity is average while the projection and sillage are pretty close to the skin after about the first hour. In summary, I'd rate the scent as a plus while the performance is a minus.

Overgrown post-apocalyptic cityscape on a cloudy summer day

It's green. You probably have already guessed that based on /broadly gestures at everything/, but it bears repeating. It's really green!

It's honestly pretty funny. I've wanted to try this fragrance ever since my first encounter with CdG. I've seen the reviews and the promo pictures. And I went "duh, of course it's green" all the while. Like, this wasn't in any way a surprise or a mystery. And yet somehow when I applied it onto my skin – the greenness of it felt like a revelation. "Oh, people were right, it really IS green".

It's hard to pin down and describe in plain terms. There are lots of synthetics in it, but for some reason I don't mind them at all. If anything, I find them strangely agreeable. They're not trying to fake something else I'm familiar with – this time I'm the outsider in an alien landscape watching them nonchalantly do their own thing.

There's plenty of spices involved, but they all feel mellow. Not weak, or distant, or old – on the contrary, perhaps too young? Coriander. Pepper. But the seeds are unripe and delicate.

There's something mineralic to it, though it's hard to say what exactly it is. It never comes to the forefront, but its calm presence adds a lot of depth to the composition. Cold concrete, clean air. I feel like I'm staring at a giant monstera plant sitting on a staircase of a derelict brutalist building. Thriving. It's soft apocalypse aesthetic in perfume form and I'm the last human alive to experience it.

It becomes a skin scent after about an hour, though it never really strays far from it either way. Vibrant, yet gentle – a very intimate experience that seems to be a staple of CdG. Might be disappointing to some, but I'm personally really into it.

It slowly gets softer over the next ~3 hours, after which most of the spices and minerals dissipate. The last ~2 hours are filled with grassy musk aftertaste – still lovable, but very faint.

It's delightful! My only complaint is that I'm afraid my decant will very quickly come to an end.
