Shiso!
Shiso was a hyper-realistic interpretation of the smell/taste of shiso leaves, nothing more, nothing less. Unfortunately, the perfume has not yet been re-released in the Olfactory Library, and the only alternative remains eating the leaves, or reaching for Robertet's excellent Shiso distillate. With some distance, perhaps Corticchiato Yuzu Fou: here the mint is modulated to be slightly reminiscent of Shiso. Shiso, representative of Comme des Garçons Series 1, is also remarkable in that the concept of the series marked a turning point: there were suddenly 5 fragrances on the market at the same time, each of which also explores how reduced and focused a perfume can be. Shiso is certainly one of the most compact candidates of this series, and stands in the exoticism on the same level as Tea and Calamus.
