Beautiful Blackberry?
~ Inspiration ~
I received a sample of this at my last souk. I am not familiar with the brand and was all the more curious.
~ Bottle ~
The packaging looks like a men's shower gel or shampoo. I wouldn't be drawn to it if I saw it in a department store. The name is Italian and translates to "beautiful blackberry."
~ Scent ~
It starts off with a strong alcohol note, very citrusy with bergamot and lemon, and gets a slightly sweet undertone from the pomegranate. Raspberries and blackcurrants join in, but (in my opinion) they don't quite fit with the lemons. I don't perceive jasmine or other (wonder) flowers at all. Musk and sandalwood form a slightly woody-warm base.
~ Longevity ~
On my skin, it lasts about 1-2 hours (maybe a bit longer on clothing and hair). A sparing application is recommended, as otherwise it becomes too sour and scratchy.
~ Occasion ~
The scent is suitable for women (and men) who do not like overly sweet summer perfumes and prefer more citrusy-herbaceous fragrances (e.g., "Light Blue" by D&G).
~ Conclusion ~
How the name came about is a mystery to me, as blackberries are not present at all. I find the scent not sweet and feminine enough (I still prefer the Escada fragrances) :D
