A Strange Fruit
I bought this inexpensive Vanilla perfume because I wanted some creamy vanilla, but not so much sugar. I expected there to be more depth in Vanille Ambre with woody notes from the amber. I had the EDT of Vanille Extreme, with is a very sweet and milky vanilla, so I was expecting something similar from the Ambre version.

Instead, Vanille Ambre opens with vanilla but that quickly goes away and an intense woodiness settles over the composition. It smells really delicious: like burnt woods and a little bit of sugar. But that is not even the most interesting part: after half an hour or so, I kept smelling something super smoky, like a meat smoker scent. I figured out it was this perfume!

You don't get a meat note of course, but the smokiness is that of smoked meats and sausages instead of smokey cigars. It has really been a surprise for me that something called Vanille Ambre smells like smoke. I love the effect but wish the vanilla was more prominent and the sillage and lasting power were better.

The notes say it all
Those four notes tell it all: vanilla, amber, patchouli, musk. In that order, I would say, with lots of vanilla, plenty of amber, and enough patchouli and musk that the notes are detectable but don't overwhelm. It's a classic cold weather combo and one I could see a lot of people getting good use out of. A workhorse perfume, you could say, something you can reach for in the morning when you don't want to think too much about what to wear. Sweet but not edible, which is my personal preference for vanillas. It's basic but I like it.

For feeling good and smelling nice :)
I was very curious about Vanille Ambre back then since there isn't much written about this beautiful fragrance, and I still dared to grab it blind at the souk. Thanks again to the lovely Parfuma. I was blown away from the very first spray :)
Today it's raining again, and somehow it just doesn't want to be summer this year. No summer feeling fragrance can help me get over this blues.
This 1 day of heat and 3 days of cool rainy weather is really starting to wear me down. Today, I feel like cozying up on the couch and enhancing the cuddle factor with a nice scent. For that, Vanille Ambre is perfect... but not just that... ;)
About the scent:
Vanille Ambre doesn't really have a remarkable scent progression. Dark and spicy, the amber comes through in the first minutes. Then the vanilla joins in, and patchouli helps to temper the sweetness a bit.
I perceive the amber-vanilla combo on my skin as slightly smoky-spicy, and after about half an hour, a musk note adds itself, perfectly rounding off Vanille Ambre. The scent stays on the skin for the next 8 hours and truly provides moments of comfort. You just smell good with Vanille Ambre, and it's not just my nose telling me that... I've already received several compliments for it. You smell good... or wow... a sexy scent, etc. ;)
The bottle is quite nice and typical for Comptoir Sud Pacifique. Although it appears opaque, you can see the fill level when held up to the light.
For me, Vanille Ambre is a go-to... whether for work, leisure, or going out... always wearable, and it doesn't disturb those around you; on the contrary... they sniff around even though the scent isn't that loud. However, it's not suitable for the peak summer. But for all other temperatures below 24 degrees, it's very suitable :)
Conclusion:
If you're looking for an amber-vanilla scent to feel good and smell nice and you enjoy sweet fragrances... definitely give it a try. It's worth it!
I can hardly keep my nose away from my wrist; it smells so good ;)
Vanille Ambre will definitely have a permanent place in my collection and will be repurchased as soon as the bottle is empty.

Vanilla Amber
I had written in my comment back then that this beautiful vanilla perfume would not have good longevity, which was incorrect!
Now that I have used it more frequently, I must give it more plus points in terms of longevity, as it is very good!!
Vanilla Amber is a wonderful vanilla scent that contains a note of roasted, sugared almonds, with a hint of patchouli.
For vanilla perfume lovers, it is an absolute must-have if they do not want a pure vanilla scent, but rather a perfume that also has an animalic note among others!
The scent of roasted almonds is, of course, part of the experience here :)

A Comforting Scent
I am completely taken with "Vanille Ambre" by Comptoir Sud Pacifique! What a beautiful, very soft, warm vanilla scent. A little spicy, a little powdery, and rather creamy. "Vanille Ambre" is classified as sweet-gourmand, but it is not overly cloying sweet; instead, you are gently embraced by the sweetness. It smells like roasted almonds, which another comment described very well.

Vanilla lovers should definitely give this a try. I wasn't familiar with the brand at all and stumbled upon it by chance. "Vanille Ambre" is a comforting scent that simply smells good without any frills or sophistication. However, I wouldn't recommend it for the height of summer.

The longevity is very good; I could still smell it after 8-9 hours. The sillage is well-defined, so it's not really an office scent. Unfortunately... because when I apply "Vanille Ambre," I can't get my nose away from my wrist, and I would love to wear it more often.

The bottle is just okay, nothing special, it could also be found in any drugstore. That sounds more negative than it should. The silver/blue colors give me a Caribbean vibe.

Those four notes tell it all: vanilla, amber, patchouli, musk. In that order. A bit boring? Maybe. But an easy reach in the winter.

The beginning of a great love story:
Vanilla meets Amber.
They roll in soft musky sheets,
Patchouli leaves gently wafting by.

Amber & Vanilla in a familiar way
Unfortunately unharmoniously intertwined with Patch
& Musk - which somehow doesn't fit in here - not for me

Sweet vanilla, delicious
Amber soft & fine
Patchouli adds a bit of spice
This way you can,
with musk (powdery-creamy at the same time),
be in bed.

A beautiful blend of vanilla, amber, and a hint of tobacco
Sweet, warm, spicy, and smoky. I love this combo.
Longevity is very good, sillage is rather weak.

If you love vanilla and amber, you can't miss this scent. It starts sweet, then the amber sparkles and it becomes slightly earthy. SUPER!

VA is like a Magnum ice cream: Without the chocolate coating (=vanilla), it would be only half as good. Its sweetness nicely tones down the spiciness of the amber.
