Creamy, lactonic coconut milk with some tropical fruitiness and a hint of synthetic
Bought this perfume as part of a travel size sample set from Sephora just before they discontinued Comptoir Sud Pacifique (CSP) from their brand offering. Held off from trying CSP because I had other decants to try out, but now I've been coming back to my travel sizes to try and declutter. This is the second one from my travel size set!
A blast of well-churned, creamy, lactonic coconut milk goodness. This is what I get for the first 15 minutes. It's delicious, and oh so comforting. A lovely dupe for many coconut fragrances I've smelled out there. Unfortunately, and this might be on me, I think lactonic fragrances turn out a bit sour at the edge when I spritz them on my skin. It could be a skin chemistry; aka a "me" problem. After the creaminess, comes the slightly powdery scent from the heliotrope. I don't get any florals whatsoever from it. Thinking it got drowned in that vat of coconut milk while steeping in there. There's also a fruity quality that starts appearing. Smells like the flesh of a coconut mixed with something tropical (maybe bananas?). It's a bit undescript so I can't really say how it smells other than fruity. After that vanilla starts to come up. It's the same vanilla as the one found in other CSP products: warm, elegant and sweet.
Overall it's a fine fragrance and a lovely dupe if you want something not too expensive that smells like coconut. I think it's nice, but I'm starting to realise I'm not that much of a coconut fragrance girl, so it won't be making it into my collection as a full bottle.
