Peachy vanilla surprise

This is sweeter than I expected judging by the notes that were listed on the website when I originally sampled this (vanilla, woods, musk, benzoin). Sweeter than the other two vanillas I've tried from Comptoir Sud Pacifique, Vanille Ambre and Vanille Passion. The notes listed here are much more accurate. The peach top note, especially. I like it, and if I'd gone in expecting a peachy vanilla, I probably would have loved it, but I can't stop imagining the woodsy vanilla I wanted.

Fruity vanilla with a peach note that imitates pears

This is a very shockingly similar perfume (might I even say a dupe) to Vanilla Woods Eau de Parfum. If I had known before blind-buying it, I might have skipped over it. Thankfully my boyfriend loves Vanilla Woods, so I was able to give it to him.

Vanilla Iconique starts out with a strong fruity note. I detect ripe peaches: juicy and tangy. The peach note eerily ressembles that of a pear which is probably where people draw comparison with Vanilla Woods. I smell a hint of fruity almond that also tries to peak through. Cedar is pretty tame which surprised me. Magnolia gives off a floral, fruity vibe that further enhances the pear note I detect from the peaches. Vanilla ends up combining with everything to give off this sweet, gourmand accord. It's a deeper and more complex perfume. Musk and ambergris adds freshness and a lighter feel near the end. There was also a comforting warmth at the edge of it all.

It's a perfume fit for warm weather as it's not too cloying or too headache inducing. I can clearly see myself wearing at the beach as it has low sillage and projection. It is stronger than what I thought it would be, but still bearable. I will be giving it to my boyfriend as I'm not a Vanilla Woods fragrance lover and this one reminds me too much of it, but it's, nonetheles, a nice fruity vanilla.

Head over heels in love with this vanilla

A few days ago, a sample of the iconic vanilla arrived at my place. Since I am absolutely addicted to vanilla, I had to take the first spray immediately.

What can I say? I would have loved to bathe in it right away, it smells so delicious! A sweet, warm vanilla-almond dessert scent with a hint of peach, but only very subtly noticeable. Paired with a light, very subtle woody note. But otherwise just vanilla, vanilla, and more vanilla.

For me, it’s a fragrance that incredibly warms and provides a sense of security, that calms and envelops. I really enjoy wearing it before going to sleep. Longevity and sillage are fine, but not outstanding. However, that doesn’t bother me too much here, as I wear the scent more for myself and my soul than for the public.

This will definitely be joining me in full size!

Warm and Fruity

I am always on the lookout for new woody vanillas, and recently I discovered Vanille Iconique. The scent is very sweet, light, but feels warmer rather than truly woody or boozy. It reminds me of Vanilla Woods by 7 Virtues, but it is fruitier. Instead of pear, there is peach here, and I can sense it immediately. It is a very pleasant gourmand; it is not heavy, and I wear it often and with pleasure. What bothers me slightly is that you can only buy it in EDT. I feel like it doesn't last long. However, layering it with a strong simple vanilla scent works wonderfully!
