I Just Love You...
La Fille de l‘air is a very fine, fresh, very bright and radiant, slightly soapy floral scent that works best in shimmering heat, as it feels even more refreshing, almost floating.

I can understand the associations with 4711 due to the neroli note, but this composition here is much more elegant, floral, fluffy, and multi-layered than the well-known cologne, and it has nothing stale or piercing about it. The scent is simply perfectly balanced!

Why do I love it so much?

Of course, it has personal components again: A few years ago, my husband and I fulfilled a dream, and we drove with our VW bus and our then relatively small children all the way to Spain. We stayed at many campsites, but the most beautiful place for all of us was in Carcassonne. We had a wonderful time there together. I had wanted to visit the castle for a long time because I loved "The Lost Labyrinth" by Kate Mosse. Yes - and there, in those little souvenir shops, they of course sold fragrances from Grasse. My favorite scent was called "Chèvrefeuille," for me the epitome of a hot summer day in the south of France. I wore the scent all the time and fell in love with it. Unfortunately, I only got a small bottle of it, which soon ran out at home. Last year we were in Bordeaux, and again in shimmering heat, I discovered "La Fille de l‘Air," which immediately transported me back to Carcassonne.

This time I secured 100 ml right away and find the pale pink bottle beautiful and unusual; it feels like a sculpture or an exquisite piece of art in the hand. The scent has a great sillage and lasts several hours on me. I believe either you love such neroli scents (also similar: Néroli-Orchidée by L‘Occitane), or you hate them. For some, they smell like bathroom cleaner, for others fine and elegant. For me, they evoke longing. But only if they are as well made as the daughter or girl of the air!

Fabric Softener Intense
"The Girl of the Air," huh. I don't find Courrèges' fragrance, bottled in delicate pink, to be airy at all. Instead, it is an absolutely creamy flower, yet so exaggeratedly intensified that it feels like you're holding your nose directly to the opening of an old fabric softener bottle and taking a deep whiff.
Only the subtle freshness, realized through neroli, protects it from total grandma-ness. The citrus of bergamot is almost undetectable to me, as is the cedarwood. Neoprene, on the other hand, is one of those ridiculous notes that most customers probably don't even know how it should smell. My parents were divers and wore neoprene suits. I can't recall an absolutely characteristic scent from that.

Overall, it's a weak fragrance that smells far too old (though not outdated) and simply didn't need to exist.

La Fille de L'Air is only really wearable in everyday life; otherwise, I could also see it as a solid scent for relaxing.
However, it doesn't suit my taste at all and would likely repel me from any woman wearing it.

The projection is so-so: solid sillage for 2 hours, then it drops off sharply until it disappears after 5 hours.
For an EdP, that's too little and not worth the price.

Wonderful herbal "Air Girl"!
I really didn't expect "Courrèges" to release such great fragrances again! I'm thinking of "Empreinte" & Co., which really caught me off guard. Unfortunately, they are empty and some are no longer produced. But there is quite a bit happening in the newer range of their fragrances. A prime example of solid perfume art is this one.... "The Girl of the Air". Inspired by Serge Lutens' "Filles", which are olfactorily of a completely different nature - yet qualitatively equally valuable. This feminine "airhead" is likely to appeal to some "noses" of the opposite gender as well. Since there is hardly anything sweet involved. Except for the nature-like fruitiness of oranges, limes, and bergamots. And a little pollen from orange blossoms. A well-measured dose of cedarwood and a hint of musk provide the necessary depth - and long-lasting wear! For citrus fragrances, this is certainly above average.
Here I can also sniff out "coolness", very much in the spirit of a refreshment on sultry hot summer days. A little breeze from the north. Pleasant touch!
But it also has a certain "sun warmth" that provides the "anti-chill effect" on cool spring and autumn days. A bright and cheerful scent, the herbaceous notes remind me of the essential oils of citrus fruits and neroli. Which were surely used as well. Everything "fits" without really being "adjusted"! Wonderful-- / and femininely airy :-))

Sunshine Glimmer
On rainy and gray days like this, one sometimes needs to bring back summer, the sun, and warmth. With "La Fille de L'Air," this is effortlessly possible. The refreshing neroli scent is a shining example of how to update the old 4711 pattern. Wonderfully natural, with massive sunshine at its heart, this vital summer fragrance touches every heart. It tingles from the belly button to the tips of the ears.

If it were summer now, if it were summer now, I would head to the sea and follow you. Or something like that, Pohlmann sang beautifully a few years ago. This fragrance is summer feeling, have some fun, Dancing in The Morning Sun. Bacardi feeling. A dream of Lambada, Samba De Janeiro, and Mambo No. 5. Summer in The City and Kid Rock's All Summer Long. Winter can wait. It will come soon enough. I'm going on vacation again.

Bottle: the top looks spectacular, the bottom not so much
Sillage: is anyone expecting much here? Not really.
Longevity: Not Bad, Mr. Neroli - 5 hours

Conclusion: sunny, zesty, juicy - this sunny kiss of air is a neroli treasure like no other!

Citrusy soapy opening with floral undertones. I don’t think I get the neoprene. White floral dry down that’s pleasant but maybe not special.

Eau de Cologne in the sense of a soft, feminine cologne, with a stronger emphasis on orange blossom instead of neroli.

You need a preference for neroli / classic colognes here. Fresh, clear, soapy, summery, classic. Neoprene? Not at all! Fine!

Bright orange blossom like from a storybook, airy, summery, Mediterranean. Not sweet. Neroli interjects, almost herbal like essential oil.

Orange blossom fresh-radiant, with a generous dose of neroli. A bit traditional, but very wearable and perfect for sunny days.

Wonderful, slightly bitter solo citrus scent with a hint of woods and flowers. It delves deep into its own notes - well-lasting - top class!

Neroli blossoms with bergamot, cheerful on sturdy wood: an almost edgy floral scent. After 4 hours, wonderfully delicate yet full.
