I just love you ..
La Fille de l'air is a very fine, fresh, very bright and radiant, somewhat soapy floral fragrance that works best in shimmering heat, as it is even more refreshing, almost floating.
I can understand the associations with 4711 due to the Néroli note, but this composition here is much more elegant, floral, fluffy and multi-layered than the well-known cologne, and it has nothing old-fashioned or pungent about it. The fragrance is simply perfectly balanced!
Why I love it so much?
Of course, this has personal components again: A few years ago, my husband and I fulfilled a dream and drove all the way to Spain with our van and our children, who were still relatively young at the time. We stayed at many campsites, but the most beautiful place for all of us was in Carcassonne. We had a wonderful time there together. I had wanted to visit the castle for a long time because I loved "The Lost Labyrinth" by Kate Mosse so much. Yes - and there, in those little souvenir shops, they also sold fragrances from Grasse, of course. My favorite scent was called "Chèvrefeuille", for me the epitome of a hot summer day in the south of France. I wore it all the time and fell in love with it. Unfortunately, I only bought a small bottle of it, which was soon empty at home. Then last year we were in Bordeaux, and again in the shimmering heat, I discovered "La Fille de l'Air", which immediately transported me back to Carcassonne.
I bought 100 ml this time and find the pale pink bottle beautiful and unusual, like a sculpture or an unusual work of art in the hand. The fragrance has a great sillage and lasts for several hours on me. I think you either love such Néroli fragrances (also similar: Néroli-Orchidée by L'Occitane), or you hate them. For some they smell like bathroom cleaner, for others fine and elegant. For me, they arouse longing. But only if they are as well made as the Daughter or the Girl of the Air!
