Not a regretful blind-buy
As a frequent visitor to Salem, MA, I decided to blind-buy this (there weren't any other options, unfortunately) but despite that I don't regret it because this strange, dark, aquatic violet amber fragrance really works for me. It doesn't project like mad, but for me it is unique and interesting and has that rare quality of being both cold and warm, present and ghostly. If you're sniffing for it, it is elusive, but if you pay no attention it will haunt you. The far dry down isn't like anything else I have, and it's nice and pleasing amber and sandalwood dry down, but not mind blowing by any means. Sometimes that's good enough, I suppose.
