I’ve had this one in my collection for a while now, but honestly, I wrote it off pretty quickly. Just another rosewater type, you know? Fresh garden rose, all petals and no plot. Meh, not wow.
But then I gave it a proper wear — wore it to a workout, of all things (because clearly I enjoy suffering in style). And you know what? I think this one needs heat. Like, actual heat. Warm skin, higher temps — it really helps it open up and bloom.
Still not a total wow, but there’s definitely more going on. It starts to show all its facets — slightly fruity, sparkling, fresh rose petals. Then it dips into something deeper, more floral, almost wine-like. And just when you think it’s getting too serious, the musk comes in and freshens everything up again. It finishes with this ambery base that supports the rose. The rose stays center stage, start to finish. Kind of a soliflore, but not linear — there’s a real journey here. It reminds me of my beloved (and tragically discontinued)
Stella Eau de Parfum. Same musky, deep rose with that soft amber hug at the end.
Daytime wear, good projection, medium longevity.
La Colle Noire technically means "black glue" or "black hill." But there’s nothing dark about this one. It smells like sun-warmed petals drifting on the breeze... like a summer garden.
