It's interesting how much the scent develops on you, and you recognize it differently. When I initially bought a bottle, it was a spicy sandalwood with oriental style. Now I mostly feel the rose with a woody arab-oriental sandalwood as a companion, but not the main player. On my skin it goes strong for 4 hours and then disappears completely like a candle being shut down. I don't see any creaminess in sandalwood here, like many others mention. Sandalwood is smoky and dry inhere.

I'm not sure about the rumors of being discontinued, I just checked the dior Europe website (9th of November 2023) and it's available for purchase.

Forgettable...

Fusion of Oud Ispahan and Ambre Nuit? I get spiciness and slightly skanky oud vibes. Not unique and redundant. I could imagine this in a designers line not niche. It can be itchy, sharp, sticky, loud. I believe Demachy was out of creativity and rushed an idea of capturing sandalwood in Dior`s style.

Santal noir!
Or: One of the few sandalwood scents that don't chase me away directly Or maybe not anymore!
Because the first test shocked me.
Terrible! Sandalwood igitt.
But after several tests he convinced me after all.

In fact I really like this fusion of sandalwood and rose here. Better than I thought anyway ;)
Both notes are equally effective and, despite their strong projection, appear very noble.
Although I rather associate women's fragrances with sandalwood, I can also imagine it on men. Despite the rose.
Strangely enough, with this scent I had to think directly of a leather seat. But leather is not in the notes.
But what surprises me even more is the fact that this leather-like scent DNA does not cause me to scrub the stuff off my arm! No. In fact, this would probably be a "favorite leather scent candidate" if it contained leather.
Because normally I have big problems with leather scents. They are too penetrating, too strict, too animalistic and much more, but here it's more like a finely dressed lady on her way to the opera, wearing a rose scent, her husband a woody scent, in a freshly upholstered car (referring to the leather seats).
I like it in that context Smells expensive and stylish.

Sometimes fragrances get better from test to test. Sometimes worse and worse Santal Noir convinced me after all :)

Santal Noir is definitely a Sandalwood based fragrance but starts of with Rose and creamy Sandalwood combo. Ambrette is the magical note to this enchanting potion. As the fragrance develops on skin, it becomes musky, a bit boozy, fruit accord is also detected along with Tobacco. This was a blind buy for me and I am glad to have this in my collection.
