Easy breezy beautiful
Easily likable well balanced combo of wood, spices and violet. Might get extra points from me as it reminds me my first perfume - Fahrenheit (ca 25 years ago). I got some citric notes, summer vibes. Driving on the cost with cabriolet, hands in the air.

Stays well and keeps the scent body together. Not picky about the daytime or season, everything goes ;)

It’s too neutral for me today but I would give it as present for someone who isn’t so much into perfumes but still appreciates stepping out of designer mainstream.

Designer at Niche Price
Smells (to me) really designerish, like one of those clothes shop we have here in spain. It’s strong, like the room diffusers those shops have, and i’m sure a lot of people will like it.

But not me. Sorry.

It’s also a bit nausea inducing. Might be for its huge quantity of sinthetic stuff it has.

Cape of Disappointed Hopes
Even though I personally did not particularly like Eight & Bobs' first work, full of figs, creaminess & JFK myth, the successes (thankfully) have not been lacking & the brand is now expanding its portfolio. Among other things, with this semi-aquatic & luxurious vacation scent, Cap d'Antibes.

Cap d'Antibes is a vacation memory of the perfumer, of a coastal town on the Mediterranean if I remember correctly. That fits, but this fishing village must be quite wealthy, as the scent comes across as rather snobby (no offense!). Furthermore, CdA is not a real aquatic, nor does it probably want to be. Rather, it keeps its distance from water, just not wanting to get wet. It may at most enjoy a cool-gray salty breeze between its houses made of birch tar, incense, and dry-green woods. The scent is not only gray, minimally blue - it is also very green and oddly floral. This floral outsider feeling is once again provided by the violet, which has so far only completely convinced me in Fahrenheit. The fact that the scent does not fully take on the weirdo role among blue fragrances is thanks to the vanilla, which subtly and pleasingly runs through the entire scent.

Bottle: solid, handy for large hands, great sprayers.
Sillage: a misty, summer-appropriate gray fog
Longevity: quality through & through - minimum 8 hours.

Conclusion: Perfume reviews are based even more than, for example, film reviews on subjective feelings, impressions, emotions. Perhaps the most subjective hobby one can have. And therefore: clear test recommendation, because the scent is super high quality and well made... but it doesn't really please ME. I would prefer the similar Sag Harbor or Kenzo PH. But even though the two E&B perfumes have not yet matched my taste - with the quality, I know that as soon as my taste is hit, it will really impress. Maybe already with the interesting Egypt!

I have to break a lance here.....
..namely for this fragrance. I really think that this scent is an absolute summer hit.
For men, there isn't much good out there anyway, except maybe the classics like Jil Sander Sun, Aqua di Gio, or Lacoste Original... the latter being my favorite... Cape is a truly fresh, slightly melon-like scent at the top... and at the heart, it carries a vanilla note... it has a lot of depth... you can immediately tell that there are expensive ingredients in this one... a similar fragrance is the white Ferrari... but it lasts only 30% as long...
And has much less depth...

Best, Olli

Can I wear this scent as a woman?
I almost didn't test this giant.
The sample had been sitting among many others for a while, and I simply overlooked it until last night.
I almost missed OUT on THIS!
In the first 2 seconds, I was overwhelmed by its strength, which lies in the spicy and elegant cardamom that exchanges notes with moss, violet, and mint. These aromas work together. At one moment, they are the top notes and the base notes. In another moment, they are the heart notes and the base. And in another moment, everything connects.
When I read about the incense note, I thought, well, I wonder if that fits here. But the light and elegant incense has blended brilliantly with the woods and green notes. Time and again, the vanilla emerges, making everything seem almost creamy and elegant.
But only occasionally.

It radiates strength, security, but also warmth in a certain way.

This scent vaguely reminds me of "Fahrenheit (Eau de Toilette) | Dior."
However, it has its own character.
Almost classic.
This fragrance has many classic characteristics.

This creation is definitely not an Aquatic: far too spicy and green, slightly smoky, to be worn at the beach in 33°C, not even at 23°C.

If you ever find yourself in a fancy beach resort with live music, wearing a linen shirt, this is the fragrance you’ll want.

Fresh, dry green woods with a touch of background sweetness. Strong camphorous & ozonic brightness with a faint hint of underlying smoke.

Serious, fresh, masculine scent. The mint gives a great uplift. At its heart, a summer meadow. Cedar and incense underscore the composition.

Mediterranean-marine watercolor composed in the fougère style: Beautiful fresh-herbaceous opening, but the base (smoky vanilla) falls flat.
What a pity!

Confusing synthetic with nerve potential. Eliminated in every first blind scent round...

Classic men's aquatic. More for summer. Smells familiar. Violet leaf, mint, and green notes. Solid but very generic.

I can't smell a single ingredient from the pyramid. Instead, the muddy, overly masculine synthetic blend is very noticeable.

Half an hour at the beach today. Sound of the waves, fragrant beach slope. Drank spiced tea.
Unfortunately, the rest of the day got lost in a cucumber field.

I never thought you could wear cinnamon in the height of summer. Fresh, light, simply overwhelming. Highly recommended.

beautiful underrated & overpriced summer scent.
Similarity to
Fahrenheit perfume is low;
Ferrari Essence Musc - yes, FEM is a bit more robust.
