A Classy Ungaro
Another beautiful Ungaro, classy yet playful.

The raspberry note is noticeable to me but not in an overly candy kind of way. It is a supportive note rather than an overbearing one. -the red pepper also helps to prevent this berry from getting too feisty!- nevertheless, one needs to like raspberries in perfumes, because it IS noticeable. It reminds me of the red-berry note in Ungaro 2007 for Women. Red berries in perfumes are normally not my thing (neither are raspberries) but Ungaro manages to add these gourmand notes in his perfumes without that it becomes candy-like or annoying.

On my skin Apparition has mainly: vanilla, passion flower, a hint of red pepper and an 'apparition' of raspberry notes. Elegant and mature, yet still playful.

Silage is: "I smell something that doesn't smell like a lot of other scents and it surrounds me in wonderful whiffs". Longevity is very decent: 5-7+ hours.
Sample this one before purchase because it might not be what you expect.

Due to sun and warm weather
I fell in love with Apparition on one of my trips to Gran Canaria. During my stay it was my birthday and I wanted to give myself a gift. I had been cruising through the perfume shops of Puerto Rico, trying to find a new and wearable scent. And then I saw the bottle. As has happened so many times. Me falling in love with a bottle. I tried it out and it was perfect. So sweet and fruity. It became my birthday present for me in 2005.
Later when I came back to the more cold part of my world I must admit that the experience of the smell changed. In January the temperature is around zero and the fragrance does not work with the skin in the same way as it does in warmer climate. The fragrance became too much and too cloying. What I perceived as a warm and delicious smell turned into a hideous mess of too much fruit and flowers.
I wear this on hot summer evenings.

Just go away… but not too fast!
Seriously, what can the sweet little fluff ball from the top tier do to lure the old grumpy wood and incense dealer out from behind the cold oven? Of course: nothing at all. And why does this sweet stuff creep through all the cracks and entice? No idea, I’m a victim.
I only bought it because Francis Kurkdjian was on the label (I know, primitive, but I also buy everything that has Johannes Brahms on it (or Antonin Dvorak)). So, here comes the pretty packaging, sooo nice, and the bottle with glitter stones attached, sooo nice, and not even real perfume comes out, but some sort of smear-gel ("parfum révélation," never heard of it).
And then a little tabletop fireworks starts crackling and popping on my arm: There you have peach, and you have raspberry and you have mango (or something) - and it just doesn’t stop… I complain, but this thing just won’t listen!
With heavy signs of fatigue, I retreat to the angular bed, dreaming sugary dreams, the gray twilight is rising, leaden clouds loom over the timid light, the mood is once again apocalypse multiplied by Monday, but something is bothering me. The little, cheerful, moist-happy-fruity-good-mood-firework on my arm is still chattering away… Unstoppable, Unquenchable.
Got it for a small price on the bay. People, don’t do this to yourselves. Afterwards, you’ll end up adopting it. And then you’ll have a good-mood monster on your nightstand and won’t be able to get rid of it.
By the way: for anyone who thought Gucci "Rush" was an ordinary fruity girl: here is the girl, compared to her, Rush-Gucci is a diva!
Well, I’m already starting to talk to the girl…

Mispurchase
Unfortunately, the scent has been sitting with me for a year. I dug it out and tested it again, but I don't find it any better than before.

I only bought it because of the raspberry; that's what can lure me in.
It does smell like raspberry, but flat and artificial. Not like fresh raspberry cake but like cheap syrup. And after half an hour, it's gone. I expected more from Ungaro! No trace of patchouli or pepper. Apparition could pass as a children's fragrance from Disney or Princess Lillifee.
Sorry to all the lovers, bashing is usually not my thing, but this was a flop.
I will use it to clean the cat litter.

Who gave me this raspberry tip???
Don't worry, I'm not looking.

Yes, indeed, raspberries are clearly and distinctly noticeable, really squeaky, sticky sweet. However, the roses sour the scent and me equally.
Tonka bean and vanilla are passing the baton in a revolving door.
Ungaro reminds me massively of those car air fresheners that make you annoyed when you accidentally tore the foil too far and it no longer sticks.
Or,
Murcielago, if you want to know what half-digested raspberry-vanilla puree from a toddler tastes like, I’d be happy to send you a sample :)

Scents don't have to be good to do something with us. SHE was my great luck at that time. SHE wore A. and will remain forever.

Overripe fruits, sweet and almost bordering on rotten. I'm not surprised they don't make this anymore. Good thing.

A very flat scent that consists only of half-frozen berries.
Totally loveless, and after not even an hour, it disappears into thin air.
