Brazen Intimate T-Shirt
By now, only number III of the Ungaro-Homme series is available, which I also own and have come to appreciate its sharp rose-vodka combo over time. For a long time, I wondered why I and II became such legends that are hardly seen anymore. After today’s test of Numero 2, I can understand this sudden extinction a bit better and am only half as eager to test part 1.
Since the scent seems to change every 15 minutes at the latest, I unfortunately have to use a different classification than usual ;):
Ultra top note: Sweat meets lemon
Top note: Civet spoils bergamot
After top note: Coriander adds a green touch to the animalistic play. I'm also slowly turning green in the face.
Neck note: Lavender makes everything creamier, a bit softer, and nicer.
Fore note: the musty sweat is slowly fading away.
Heart note: it becomes more floral, yet remains masculine.
After note: occasionally, there are pepper bursts that upset my stomach.
Intermediate note: all dead animals are finally gone.
Light base note: the scent becomes warmer, more amber-like.
Base note: very sweet, leathery animal instincts come through again.
After base note: Benzoin and vanilla, minimal intimate leather.
Wow.
Bottle: the Ungaro style, perfected in III.
Sillage: sometimes unpleasantly strong.
Longevity: 8-9 hours can be considered powerful nowadays.
What a brazen stinker... then again a gentle charmer... an absolute chameleon!
The beginning shocks me too much with the mix of armpit sweat, civet, and citrus scent to reward the courage and variety with a higher rating. Nevertheless, every second of the test is an experience and worth the necessary concentration. And in the end, it becomes beautifully reconciliatory again. Still, I am a bit afraid if part 1 gets even crazier. But I don’t have a sample to complete the Ungaro trilogy anyway. For now, I much prefer part 3, which seems well-behaved and conservative in comparison.
