It's actually that simple
Green apples, guava, watermelon, pineapple, coconut milk = paradise?
As simple as that?
I'd say it takes a bit more "ideas" or "creative input" to mix a memorable fragrance worthy of a name with the word "paradise" in it.
After all, an average chemical lab could be such a rich and generous source of inspiration that even the people behind "Born in Paradise" could have come up with something less boring. But I don't want to go into the details of this uninventive but flourishing company, although there is something fascinating in the "gaiety" of the fragrance's packaging. Time to get accustomed to the repetitiveness of the repetition.

Rumble in the Tropical Jungle
Joy arises as Escada sends out a free sample of their new summer fragrance Born in Paradise. Oh no, the sample arrives, and it's just a dabbed patch, one might say. How unnecessary these things are and how much I hate them. Not even worth the postage. Anyway, the first scent impression is so useless and weak, applying it to the skin and dabbing doesn't help either - so the good Leimbacher had no choice but to head to the store this week and test this tropical summer fragrance himself.

Last summer, the focus was successfully on cherry with Cherry in the Air - with Born in Paradise, it's pineapple's turn in 2014. A rather heavy, milky pineapple. If it were a cocktail, it would be a thick one with lots of coconut and hardly any sparkling elements. The scent initially feels quite heavy, but it evaporates and dilutes super quickly. The top note with the fresher, aquatic notes like melon or apple sinks beneath the heart, and only cedar musk briefly makes an appearance before this synthetic summer love quickly leaves us again.

Bottle: beautiful colors, slender figure, summery cocktail.
Sillage: at first, it seems strong, but it's actually a trick.
Longevity: here too, more appearance than reality - 4-6 hours, more like 4.

I greatly appreciate that Escada releases real, full-fledged new summer fragrances every year instead of unnecessary flankers. They can limit these as much as they like, and I will definitely try to get my hands on those from previous years, even if Born in Paradise is more of a trick. It's not nice that the repetition of names creates chaos and also leads to too short longevity. So there is light and shadow in Paradise.

Tropical Fruit Explosion
I haven't paid much attention to the limited Escada fragrances in recent years. Cherry in the Air didn't really impress me either, but today in the perfumery I tested Born in Paradise and thought I'd take a small bottle with me. It is a very delicious and sweet tropical fruit explosion. A Piña Colada scent that consists of more than just pineapple and coconut. It's not necessarily something special, but a feel-good fragrance for summer days that aren't too hot, as it is definitely too sweet for those. A scent that I can enjoy after buying it once, but how good that it is only intended for one season and is limited.
If you love very sweet, fruity fragrances and don't expect any significant change in the scent progression, this is the right one for you.

Fragrances that I buy always have 100% for me, because otherwise I wouldn't buy them :-)

The Freshness in Sweet Escada - SugarCocktail - Paradise
As every year, I ordered the latest Escada addition blindly. So far, I have not been fundamentally disappointed. The Escada summer fragrances and I are simply made for each other, we belong together like cocktail and little umbrella, like sea and beach... the perfect pair... forever together in the heaven of scents... aaah they just know what I like and always surprise me... *dream* :)

*clears throat*

But now enough of indulging in bliss. :) Born in Paradise comes in greener (thanks to the apple) and significantly fresher - I would almost consider saying citrusy - this time. For me, it’s a significant change after years of sugary fruit bombs. I also find it more harmonious and thoughtful - more varied - than last year’s summer scent Cherry in the Air. Which was relatively flat, simple, and very sweet cherry aroma, rather one-dimensional (not that I wouldn’t still love it).

Born in Paradise is fresh and crisp, light yet a bit sweet. The apple takes the dominant role. Over time, it even becomes a bit creamy (which I have never noticed in the Escadas before). It is finer and less "I’ll slap my sugary cocktail in your décolletage" intrusive than its predecessors. Somehow it feels older and more mature. Not that I wouldn’t like the cocktails, even though I’m far from 20. :) But as someone over 25, you sometimes have to face reality - and aging - wipe the cocktail from your décolletage and at least a few times a year wear a fragrance that suits your age. ;) And that is definitely possible with Born in Paradise. :)

In that sense, one does not get older but wiser - or maybe not! :D

Paradise Lost
Goodness, it's terrible... Today I was at Müller to spray Cerruti 1881 again and see if I would buy it. "Born in Paradise" was presented in such a way that I couldn't walk past it and sprayed it on my hand.
I was expecting a slightly aquatic scent with a sweet coconut base, although I hadn't really thought about it seriously since I had never liked any of the Escada summer editions. The opening was extremely intrusive, with omnipresent oily coconut flakes underpinned by a sticky fruity sweetness. After an hour, it briefly reminded me of "Modern Muse," but that was just a fleeting moment. This mixture of coconut and sweetness is refined by nothing, absolutely nothing - not a hint of wood, let alone cedar.

I wouldn't know where you could wear this on vacation, and it is damn far from paradise.

Mega sweet tropical fruit colada, pretty strong performance for such a fruity fragrance, 4+Hrs before I have to top up.

She likes Pina Colada... sings. Unfortunately not very long-lasting. But tasty, tasty, tasty... oh yes, tasty.

A lovely fruity scent, just as you know it. However, of all the Escada fragrances I have, this one has the worst longevity.

I once received it from my husband for my birthday with the note, fruit salad in a bottle. That's true.

Pina Colada in a spray. Linear, monotonously fruity-sweet. Theoretically nice for summer, if H & S weren't so bad.

The heart note suggests Piña Colada. Unfortunately, that doesn't come through for me at all. It's fruity, but different from what I expected.

Club vacation under palm trees, cocktails by the pool, soft laughter on the beach, Calypso and sundowners as the red sun slowly sinks into the sea.

Scratchy like a poorly peeled pineapple and then a glass of fruit punch in your face! Fruity brute!
