Cherry in the Air
First off, let me start by saying that I love this. Probably my all-time favorite fruity scent thus far. It's all about the cherries! I love the smell of cherries and this does not disappoint in that respect. Cherry in the Air indeed! Not sickeningly sweet or cloying at all. It's rather fresh, light and juicy! The base is warm and keeps the scent from becoming too flighty. This fragrance would be a really great choice for spring and summer. One of the best Escada scents I've ever smelled. The bottle is also really charming. The lasting power of this perfume isn't the greatest but so what, just reapply later on. If you're looking for a cheerful scent for a quick pick-me-up, look no further, this is the one for you!

best Escada I've tried
I'm not generally an Escada fan. To my nose, this brand generally signifies overly fruity scents for my taste that tend to be quite synthetic. It's as though someone mixed together a bunch of fruit-scented shampoos. Even if I did like an Escada, I wouldn't buy it new. The company is owned by Procter & Gamble, a US conglomerate that refuses to stop testing products on animals. Considering the cruelty and lack of necessity of animal testing, I wish everyone would avoid their products.
If you like natural fruit scents, though, and you can get a free sample or a used bottle of Cherry in the Air, you should! This is a surprisingly accurate, clear cherry scent. It makes me think of a sponge cake with a little bit of vanilla and some pineapple slices, topped by fresh cherries. (Apparently, there are some notes not listed here.) It's much less cloying than other gourmands aimed at young women, so I definitely think this is the highlight of the Escada range. It has presence, but is light enough that one could wear it on a cool summer day. I'm glad I gave it a chance.

Super yum!
This is such a fun fragrance! I tested it tonight at TJMaxx, where I've been seeing it for $39.99. That's too much for me to pay for a blind buy, and after testing it, I feel it's best left for the under-30 crowd. However, I will say that I like the smell a lot, I just don't want to smell like cherries, personally.

It goes on with a huge blast of sour cherry, which was amazing!!! I wanted it to last, but the dry down is good, too. It just gets a little sweet-cherry instead of sour-cherry. I'm not sure I get the marshmallow, but there is definitely vanilla there. This smells just like a cherry milkshake! It really is yummy.

Over-hyped "clean cherries"
To me this is just:
- soft maraschino cherry
- light white floral
- ozonic notes (I guess that's the suede, oak, musk, etc. coming through)

Comes across as a "clean" and "fruity" cherry blossom. Dry-down was mostly suede, oak, and musk notes, with a hint of the cherry and white floral in the background. Fresh/clean, but I wasn't "wowed" by it. It also faded very quickly, into almost nothing, within 20 minutes.

People hyped this up so much, and it's impossible to find for a good price. While it's a decent cherry frag, I sincerely believe so much of the reviews come from fond memories/nostalgia tied to it (as with most Escada limited-release fragrances).

It honestly smelled like something I could find at BBW (not like Japanese Cherry Blossom Fragrance Mist , but like their cherry blossom flankers - White Cherry Blossom , Blushing Cherry Blossom Eau de Toilette , etc).

If you enjoy this but would love a more "amped up" comparable scent, you might like Winter Cherry Blossom :

OG - CHERRY IN THE AIR:
- lighter scent overall
- the "ozonic"/woody/floral blend comes off a little bit "soapier"
- disappears super fast

DUPE - WINTER CHERRY BLOSSOM:
- bolder/stronger scent
- a little bit heavier on the fruits, but still ozonic and light
- disappears quick too, but not as fast as Cherry in the Air

The American Way of Cherry
As a child, I lived in the USA for two years; it was a very carefree, beautiful, and sweet part of my childhood. On about 200 days a year, the weather was perfect for swimming, we frolicked in the neighborhood pools, the ice cream truck came by daily, and we regularly bought our sweets at the nearby mall. One of the sensory impressions that was not diluted by later experiences in Germany was the American cherry: bigger, redder, plumper, juicier, sweeter, artificial. Whether in Hubba-Bubba, slushies, Cherry Coke, or many other sweets, always the same color, the same smell, the same taste of a uniform cherry. There must be something in this aroma that has raised serious concerns for EU regulators, because until Escada's "Cherry in the Air," I had not smelled this unique scent again.

In contrast to me, my friend is a person who owns only a single fragrance! Yes, such a thing exists! ... and she is always correspondingly excited when she has to try something new for me again. This scent will definitely not be hers, and only with a lot of persuasion was I able to prevent her from immediately indulging in extensive ritualistic washings after applying "Cherry in the Air." Because the scent developed quite a respectable sillage on her, which only faded a bit after 4-6 hours, but remained noticeably present throughout the day.

As expected, there is this cherry, red, powerful, sweet, synthetic. Some noses may already close up, but if you give the receptors a little room to breathe, then there comes even more sweetness and even more synthetics. It is supposed to be marshmallow. I don't like the stuff either fresh out of the package, nor traditionally with toasty flavors from the campfire, nor when it is offered here at the fair as marshmallow. But it could really be marshmallow that you smell; either way, it remains synthetic. The scent then also has a certain woody note pushing through, it is supposed to be sandalwood, but unfortunately, my nose has stored different associations under this term. I do not recognize it, as my nose is too clogged from the other sweet notes.

Now I had my fragrance experience, but somehow this generated image does not match the packaging or the advertising. On one hand, a blonde girl is cheerfully cycling through an orchard in France, letting her hair flutter in the warm and aromatic air. On the other hand, there sits a made-up blonde in an air-conditioned American diner, savoring her Cherry Vanilla Ice Cream Shake. The bottle fits 100% with this latter image, the color gradient, the red ribbon in the hair, the little cherries on the Lucky Charm Bracelet. Both images have their merits; they just do not fit together.

If you like the American Way of Cherry and are between 16 and 26 years old, then you can find your unmistakable scent for spring and summer 2013 with "Cherry in the Air." For everyone else, there are other great fragrances...

It's a cherry milkshake in a perfume, and it is delicious! But it's best left for the under-30 crowd.

Even though I'm not 16 anymore! I let my inner Pippi Longstocking out! Barefoot through the puddles, and climbing a cherry tree!

I hold out a test strip to the (Japanese) man. "Do cherry blossoms smell like this?" - "No, this smells like Japanese toilet stones." I believe it right away.

And then you just feel 16 again. Cherry lollipop, sweet, innocent. There's nothing wrong with that. Sometimes I crave something one-dimensional.

Elvital Color Shampoo and the red cherry lollipops from the pharmacy. Light, synthetic, fresh, not too cherry-like at all. Pure nostalgia!

Many sweet cherries, unfortunately very artificial. I liked the start quite a bit, but then it drops off and feels cheesy.

My first great love - when it comes to cherry scents. When I spray it, I'm instantly 19 and in training again. Just sweet and cherry-like.

No matter how hard I try, all I smell here is shampoo, shampoo, and more shampoo. What a shame!

Sweet, synthetic sour cherry with vanilla sauce. Very fruity, creamy, soft. Despite the synthetic notes, it's not overpowering. Sillage could be better.
