The Child of the Green Forests
The cry of the black crow broke through the sound barrier of the night.
Like an ominous pain.
Like a stab through the heart.
Like a never-ending odyssey.
Even the trees of the forest seemed to bleed.
Green resin.
Green labdanum.
Green endless herbaceousness.
Was life only possible through pain?
Or did we only become aware of life again through pain?
So fresh at the beginning while drinking tea in the afternoon.
So frightening at the end with the walk in the forest.
So surprising the turn deep into the green resinous darkness.
... and there she stood amidst all the forests and yet could not see the forest for the trees.
... and grasped with a bitter freshness that life always begins in our hearts.
She knew that life would go on, despite all losses.
But amidst all that green, she realized that it was now time to live.
