Dry Spice Without a Kick
Santal starts with dry, dull spices without sweetness. After about 10 minutes, I can also faintly perceive the floral notes. The scent becomes a bit softer now. I can sense a tiny hint of indolic jasmine. The fragrance does not change significantly anymore, except that sandalwood joins later. I don't particularly like wearing the scent solo. However, it is wonderful for layering. I enjoy wearing it with a more floral, lighter "spice scent" from Florascent, such as Tishka, Tango, or Ksar. They harmonize perfectly with Santal and make the fragrance experience more interesting, I think. Santal solo is too dry, arid, unsweet, monotonous, and too "masculine" for my taste, if you understand what I mean. Santal lasts long on the skin; sprayed in the evening, I can still smell it in the morning after waking up. It is a close-to-skin scent.
