The Little Black Hive

A pleasant surprise from this flanker.

It opens with a powdery blend of honey and rose, and as it dries down, a soft hint of cherry begins to peek through. I never cared for the original - it always felt a bit too sour for me - but the honey here changes the whole mood, wrapping everything in a comforting, oriental sweetness.

I genuinely enjoy this one.

Not what I anticipated

I must admit, I’m disappointed. I had expected to find the naturalistic honey you get in Tobacco Honey, but lighter and interlaced with lush rose. This is very much an almond, cherry. It’s pleasant, not too too powdery. Light wearing. But, at this stage, I’m struggling to get either rose or honey. Had I been able to sample this, I would have passed.
