Guess 1981 Indigo for Women Guess 2018 Eau de Toilette

I got this on fragrancenet.com for about $20 and am so glad I took the risk! Guess 1981 Indigo women is a fresh-out-of-the-shower scent that starts off aquatic. Somehow they managed to put fig and red wine in there too, without making it too gourmand, spicy, or boozy. Bravo!

I read that this is supposed to be the aroma equivalent of blue jeans and a white tee, and they nailed it. This could be worn year-round, but it makes me think of fall. Its magic is in its subtly, so don't let my enthusiasm make you think it's a loud scent. It really is just comfy, casual, and laidback, like a well-worn pair of favorite jeans.

I was intrigued by the notes, and the price was so reasonable, I had to check it out and am glad I did. The fig and florals are predominant on me, with the fruity, wines vibes are more in the background, providing a richness to the fragrance. I also get a wonderful spicy note, which I think the vetiver/pilot noir grapes combo bring to the scent, and that remains just as pretty when the cedar states to shine. I really love the development of this fragrance. It's not earth-moving, but it is different from a lot of mainstream scents. It's got a modern, adult, 25+ vibe. I think it will work well in spring but also summer and fall.

I think this could easily be worn by men. It's much less sweet than many male fragrances. The spicy, boozy, woody notes are definitely unisex.

It lasts about 5 hours on me, longer on fabric, which is great for the price. Moderate projection for the first two or three hours, after which it becomes more and more intimate. I think this would be great for work, casual events, date nights or just hanging out at home.
