Summer To Go

I stumbled upon this fragrance by chance in spring and bought it blindly based on the notes. I thought: Citrus notes in the opening? White flowers in the heart? And a base of musk and wood? That sounds perfect! And I was not disappointed. I got the fragrance on sale for €25, and the price-performance ratio is simply top-notch.

The opening is very fresh and citrusy. But soon the softness and creaminess of the flowers come in. The scent reminds me of luxury, vacation, and sunscreen. I can see myself with this fragrance both in a small village in Italy with a good glass of wine and on the beach in Bali with a fresh coconut in hand. This perfume simply brings vacation vibes into everyday life.

I understand the association with Soleil Blanc, but this is by no means a dupe. It is a standalone fragrance. And for me, Amore Capri has significantly more freshness and lightness. On my skin, it lasts only about 4-5 hours. But at that price, I think you can easily reapply throughout the day.

The base notes give the fragrance a slightly bitter edge and definitely make it unisex.

Anyone who loves Soleil Blanc and Virgin Island Water will definitely find a great and affordable summer companion here!

Luxury-Luxury-Luxury-Summer, but at a bargain price

I haven't written a review in a long time, you know how it is - too busy, too many new fragrances, and so on. But I just have to tell you about this little masterpiece that has hardly been noticed so far. Capri surprises. Who would have thought that this simple bottle wrapped in plastic would hold such a surprise? It smells incredibly fine like luxurious sunscreen, elegant, somehow classy but still... like freedom. In the top note, it's a delicate veil of creamy, fresh pineapple and lemon milk that lays over my skin. Frangipani and tuberose soon mix in, and the lemony note intensifies a bit, but never dominates. In the base, Capri is simply creamy - with a well-perceptible hint of all components whipped into delicious fruit cream. I keep smelling my wrist, it's so so yummy. After some people mentioned in their statements that it smells like Tom Ford's Soleil Blanc, I tested the fragrance again. And yes, the similarity is great; however, I actually prefer Guess Capri a bit more here, as it is a touch fruitier - but still has that luxurious sunscreen vibe. Unfortunately, it seems that the fragrance hasn't made it into the assortments of most perfumeries - or is/was it limited? What a shame. If you see it anywhere - definitely try it, it's so beautiful *swoon*
