Almost too good to be true.
Aah, those chypre fragrances from the eighties. How I love them.
Unfortunately, I didn't appreciate them in the past, but now I do all the more. However, as we all know, the good ones are now hard to find, and if they are, then at completely insane prices.
Here I am in the fortunate position of having received this as a gift. It has suffered a little, who knows where it was stored, but you can still see a lot of beautiful things in it.
This rare (at least for me) Hermes fragrance has something about it that you can't immediately identify at first sniff. I think that's what makes these "old" fragrances so special, because you have to take a closer look at them if you want to understand them.
At first, I smell something mildly green at first, which later transforms into a floral fragrance that is very appealing but not overpowering.
After a while, a spicy note joins in, I can't say what it might be, paired with something minimally sweet, which I also can't define.
The finish is clearly determined by sandalwood, yes, I know THAT.
Truly a skillfully crafted, finely tuned perfume that - of course - is no longer to be found in this form today. But we already know that.
