Make perfume not war!
Gérald Ghislain has come up with an idea much more important than the usual commercial blurp which accompanies the release of a new fragrance. He set up a charity called "Make Perfume Not War" and the aim is "to finance associations and charitable projects that promote and enhance the development and well-being of children worldwide through education, the arts, sports, technology and microfinance."

His first step was the launch of a limited edition scent "Make Perfume not War" . This is the way he describes it himself: "A citrus activist leaps for a rush of freedom in perfect citrusy tranquility, followed by flowers and fruits that come together in a soft and milky heart. Peace finally arrives on the scene, lulled by a trail of musk."

The fragrance is very lively, with beautiful accents of tangerine and lemon, grapefruit and bergamot. Don't be afraid of too many fruits and flowers, they don't dominate the scent, but seem to be artfully intertwined with the citrussy aspects and never ever give the impression of a maintream fruity-floral. The overall effect is one of a vibrant, pulsating freshness with a trifle soapiness in the drydown ("fresh laundry" due to the musk used). A very versatile, very optimistic, cheerful scent full of energy. I can only recommend both the fragrance and the motto.

Insignificant Commonality
"Make Perfume Not War - okay, that's quite a 'no' statement *g*
Sure, I would also prefer to create a fragrance rather than start a war. It just lacks a bit of this or that...
How do I now connect the fragrance name with the scent notes?
Reading and sniffing the scent notes, it is truly a cheerful fragrance. Citrus fruits in their beauty and variety. With bright orange, vibrant yellow, and rich green, they bring cheerful colors to the table and smell aromatic. Citrus fruits let a hint of the south enter the winter/war kitchen.
"Do you know the land where the lemons bloom, in the dark leaves the gold oranges glow?" More beautifully than in Goethe's poem, one cannot describe the special charm of citrus fruits. Citrus fruits awaken in us a longing for vacation, sun, and the south.
Make Perfume Not War does not smell at all biting or sharply sour in the nose, but fine, like a fragrance oil for the room. A few drops in the water bowl, a tealight underneath, and mmmmh....
You can clearly notice pineapple and freesia, slightly bitter, not sweet, and the light woods resonate cheerfully.
The fragrance has no great longevity, quickly becomes close to the skin, but noticeable. You don't feel naked, but also not overly dressed. It is a light, friendly fragrance, and I could connect it with its name. But nothing more. Tonka bean and vanilla are only listed, but not perceivable.
All in all, a fragrance that you actually don't need, but you can't go wrong if you want to brighten your mood.

Created in 2013. Lemon, fruit, light musk, vanilla.
Imagine... - and
no one would go.
That will always remain a dream.
