wonderful both as a perfume and a hair product
I come here to write this review after stumbling across a great bundle deal on two of the Initio hair perfumes, noticing a lack of in-depth reviews on their structure, and taking the plunge on the purchase regardless. If you find yourself in a similar situation, or perhaps desire the to find a cheaper version of Musk Therapy that Initio released, I hope this review will be of aid to you.
To begin with; it is similar to the original Musk Therapy. Not exact, though. This version lacks a strong citrus in the opening, and it develops to be very barely noticeable. I believe I can smell a hint of lemon/bergamot oh so slightly throughout its lifetime, dispersing fairly quickly, but frankly it is so 'in the air' that I can't say definitively.
The perfume smells undoubtedly clean, wonderful, slightly musky, with a hint of fruitiness and powder. It is a clean scent, incredibly delicate; yet undeniably 'present'. The projection is very minor on-skin, though much more noticeable in the hair. Personally, I have a habit of slightly wetting my hair throughout the day whenever I find myself in front of a sink. I don't like the structure of my hair when it fully dries out, so this is the solution I found. I've noticed that if I ever step out and wet it slightly, even an entire workday after applying this fragrance, the water and movement of the hair as I drag my fingers through it really bring the scent out for a second lifetime. It is very pleasant, and, additionally, I can say that I do enjoy the texture and gloss in my hair much more when I have one of these scents sprayed into it.
It is a compliment-getter, if that is your thing. It is comfortable and cozy for yourself, though you don't really smell it on you too much after the initial application, unless, of course, you wet your hair. I am a man, and my hair isn't too long, though still probably longer than most. I would assume if you were to have hair flow down to your shoulders, the scent would project much more as it moved about, creating a genuinely pleasant bubble of this warm, clean scent around you. Strangely enough, I swear I could make out a lavender scent, but it does not appear to be listed. Truly a pleasant experience.
Lazy Sunday morning is a scent that Maison Margiela released under their 'Replica' line. Personally, I think that scent is a little lacking for the imagery that its presentation provokes. Rather, I would say that Musk Therapy is a much better representation of that beautiful, quiet, and calm Sunday morning, fresh out of a fluffy, white comforter.
Longevity wise, this scent does not seem to last more than a few hours (4-5) unless you do something to your hair, or if it tends to move around a lot. If your hair is thick and short, I would probably recommend not going with this alternative because, in my experience from having thicker hair at a medium-length, you wont get too much out of it.
Overall, very pleasant. I'm not sure if I would spend $100 on it, by itself, but if you can find yourself a steal, I wouldn't miss the chance.
